1. Ministers to Defy I.R.S. by Endorsing Candidates

Comment #254894 by Blue Monster 65 on September 26, 2008 at 11:20 am

Personally, I'd just as soon see churches pay taxes like the rest of us. If they'd like to set up actual organizations that do good works, then those could be non-profit, but they'd have to be merely funded by the church and not within the church themselves, ala county social services.

2. Secular schools of thought tainted

Isn't one supposed to "take" those bibles with them when one leaves the room? And then one can do whatever one wants to with them, right?

And some of us do.

I think I'll wait 'til the Lego version comes out. :)

I would think this game would be a whole lot more fun (if it's supposed to be such) if there were random mutations. As it is, I would rather my kids played with their Legos - more fun and more educational.

Well ... He's got my vote!

Twice, as a matter-of-fact!

5. Palin's Church May Have Shaped Controversial Worldview

Comment #243427 by Blue Monster 65 on September 5, 2008 at 8:35 pm

More news about Palin: http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/kilkenny.asp

While I am no Obama fan and I cannot fathom Bob Barr actually becoming a Libertarian, I am incredibly - INCREDIBLY - disappointed in McCain's actions in chasing after this last chance (as it were) to be president, and choosing Palin as a running mate is just the icing on the cake.

For the first time in my adult life, I have not donated to any political party during an election year, nor am I looking forward to voting.

I am stealing this premise for a skit. "... in with the Protestants" - HA! Too funny.

Root - that is the funniest thing I've read in ages!

Shame about the beetle's X, though - when will they learn to drive cars?

If his books are as rambling and stupid as his opinion, I will be sure not to read them.

9. The Atheist Next Door

Comment #156937 by Blue Monster 65 on April 8, 2008 at 12:14 pm

Interesting ... it locked up on me when it got to the Pastor asking, "Where do you place your hope?"

How about in my family and friends? How about in the fact that they are more likely to behave rationally and logically than someone who places than someone who places their faith in fairytales?

People, good sir, who are willing to do the right thing and be there in times of trouble and strife for their families and friends, as I would be for them.

10. A Letter From Hell

Comment #116195 by Blue Monster 65 on January 25, 2008 at 7:44 pm

Unfortunately, this is EXACTLY the type of garbage my neighbors will stoop to to scare my children into believing their nonsense. They're only nine and five and they've already been shown this sort of thing by their "friends."

Truly sad.

11. Dental healer finds share of faithful believers

He was an "Amateur Boxer." After being smacked in the head a few times, I'll bet he probably believes what he preaches to be true!

Sad, sad, sad.

Pokemon? My kids (8 and 5) would know EXACTLY what these guys are!

Just amazing photos ... really!

13. Where Is Atheism When Bad Things Happen?

Comment #34158 by Blue Monster 65 on April 23, 2007 at 11:51 am

Well, he IS paid to write this kind of bs, so what would you expect? Frankly, I'll bet he's as big a jackass in person as he is in print. You just wonder what kind of deep-seated psychological scars he's got to come up with such drivel.

And how much does it pay? :)

14. 'The Day They Kicked God out of the Schools' & Rebuttal

Comment #34154 by Blue Monster 65 on April 23, 2007 at 11:37 am

Brian - I saw this in one of the other threads and meant to comment on it there: congrats on making a heartfelt, kind response to that horrible, mean-spirited affront to all those who lost loved ones in VA.

Viewing these two videos really draws the line between how to treat others with respect and how to grovel with the lowest mankind has to offer.

Kudos to you, Brian.

15. Blashpemy Challenge Interview

Comment #20037 by Blue Monster 65 on January 31, 2007 at 6:02 am

I'm not really sure how to take this Blasphemy Challenge. I'm sure they're well-meaning, but it just comes off as silly to me. What's to deny when there's nothing there? It just serves to wind up the believers and that really does nothing to change their views. One really does catch more flies with sugar, you know?

16. Atheists in Jail

Comment #19829 by Blue Monster 65 on January 30, 2007 at 5:46 am

I think you're all missing the point here: instead of disposing of the bodies, you can find all sorts of uses for them: as a child, we not only ate our fill when Mom & Dad would come home from hunting, but we also made clothing from the skin, tools and furniture from the bones, toys from the testicals (clackers, anyone?) and much, much more. These days with all the pre-packaged, microwavable foods and McDonalds, I often miss Mom's homecooking. I can just smell the roasting missionary now ...
