SEA (Scientists and Engineers for America) could probably help out with this. Maybe Scientific American, Discover, the Science Channel...can't hurt to try.

Theological method of arriving at a consensus = slaughter or threaten everyone who doesn't agree with you.

Scientific method of arriving at a consensus = predict where the differing ideas will yield different observations and do those observations.

Who is the world's most prominent atheist ? I'm guessing Bill Gates, maybe Warren Buffet. Neither are prominent for their atheism, of course...
