Considering humans are involved in 'crimen bestialis' (sex with animals), and also sex with partners that are seriously unattractive, and the fact that many (most??) males who've had to live in celibacy for prolonged periods are not very choosy about who or what they shag, I think neanderthals' appearance would not have presented any major hurdle for our ancestors' sexual appetite, - neither male nor female.

Go and find a fairly thick felt pen.
Then find a mirror big enough so you can see your whole face.
Then look into that mirror for five minutes.
Then use the felt pen to write: FUCKWIT in capital letters across the mirror.
Then look into the mirror for another five minutes.

Bit rich coming from Herr Pope HitlerJugend, isn't it?
He seems to conveniently have forgotten that the Cat'lickers in the Vatican were ever so willing to turn a blind eye to Nazi atrocities, and that the road from Hitler Jugend to Pope really just is a 'full circle'.
Also there are centuries of abuse of children by the Unholy Roman Cat'licking mob of paediphiles. Try a bit of honesty (if you know what that is)!
The church is morally corrupt as is the clergy, for they have never really been willing to get their own house in order.
