1. Russia prohibits denial of Santa

Comment #104145 by EnsilZah on December 28, 2007 at 2:28 am

Shouldn't this ruling be made itself illegal, by implying the Russian government is a bunch of lying bastards, thus undermining the people's trust in their government?

3. A problem for Israel's farmers: The seven-year hitch

This type of trickery is pretty common here in Israel among the religious.

You have elevators on auto-pilot on sabbath, an Eruv that allows religious people to move in a wire-enclosed area on the sabbath, even special sabbath mice and phones that have some sort of delay mechanism that allows their use.

For people who believe in an all knowing all powerful god, they sure take him for an idiot.

4. Scientists Induce Out-of-Body Sensation

Hmm, I wonder how relevant this might be to 'Voodoo Dolls', how different the object can be from the one experiencing the sensation and whether it's a threshold or a gradient.

5. Democratic Candidates on a Personal God

Wow, I've never really realized before what this issue is like in the states.
I live Israel, and sure we have some religious parties that have quite a bit of political power, but I can't imagine a prime minister candidate mentioning in public that he talks to god.

6. Borehamwood eruv granted planning permission

I find this really annoying.
If you believe in the all powerful all knowing magic sky-daddy, at least be a little consistent and give him enough brains not to be outsmarted on a technicality.

7. Teaching assistant quit in protest at Harry Potter

Comment #48750 by EnsilZah on June 9, 2007 at 1:27 am

Aren't witches the ones being discriminated against in this case?

And wouldn't her winning create a precedent for other teaching assistants refusing to hear Christian nonsense in their classrooms?

8. Face-Off: Can You Prove God Exists?

He must be pretty confident in his points if he didn't even have to resort to invoking the banana argument.
