2. The New Atheists on Organized Freethought

As always, Sam Harris is very level-headed and not dogmatic. I think he has a point. Actually RD and Dennett are also very sensible leaders.

I think we need all kinds of labels to oppose the oppressive religions. So more the better. Let us all come together with different labels but with common goals like: Doubt, reason, think, ....

Why can't these awards and lectures of Richard Dawkins Foundation, these lectures and ideas related science be made simple and presented in the developing world? I can understand why they are not being presented in the Arab countries but they can be presented in Asian and non Muslim countries.

5. Debate between Christopher Hitchens and Dinesh D'Souza

Ignorance ALWAYS wins. Look there is empirical evidence: nearly 1.5 billion Muslims, 2.5 billion Christians, .... + other followers of other faiths. They have all voted with their feet and they have surrendered to ignorance.

I wonder why science never wins, even though it is science that provides food, shelter and explanation for wonderment.

Fear, insecurity, fear of unknown, fear of after death, fear death, decay, disease.... are much stronger than desire for truth.

6. Debate between Christopher Hitchens and Dinesh D'Souza

Everyone one of D'Souza's arguments was complete rubbish. He was conveniently hopping between reason and belief. The quality of the audience was pathetic! These guys need to be really taken on. They are preaching ignorance very effectively and in a very convincing manner.

9. Christopher Hitchens at AAI 07

Comment #80157 by PN.Shreeniwas Aiyer on October 20, 2007 at 9:29 am

Unlike most others, Hitchens is very vocal in expressing his views on Islam. He has enemies everywhere, so there are people on all sides who wish him harm. It is very important that such people are protected. Society needs such people to question every established authority.

I hope we keep him alive and allow him free expression even if we disagree with him.

11. Debate between Christopher Hitchens and Alister McGrath

Comment #79522 by PN.Shreeniwas Aiyer on October 17, 2007 at 2:18 pm

It was quite obvious, from the body language and his non-confrontational approach that McGrath was lying consciously. This man is terribly dishonest to himself.

He said that the resurrection of Jesus meant something, through his sacrifice!!! What kind of a sadist, God, who claims to be omnipotent will sacrifice his only son and leave him to die on a cross!

These idiotic priests and theologists either lie through their teeth or they are incapable of higher intelligence and so unaware of how such lying on such matters lead to cheating oneself.McGrath, poor chap, needed to gulp down loads of water to deal with his throat drying up due to nervousness. Did you watch how completely nervous he was?

He is making a living, by living like parasite, on genuinely erudite people and trying to become famous by opposing them. He does not know that he is exhibiting his ignorance. He is thoroughly intellectually dishonest.

What an idiot this McGrath is. If this is what Oxford produces or has among its faculty, I am sorry for Oxford University!!

14. Christopher Hitchens at Politics and Prose

Excellent performance by Christopher Hitchens! It certainly is a good laugh . He may not make the believer think again , he may be preaching to the converted and he may also polarise the issue. He certainly is erudite and sounds honest.

17. Anderson Cooper interviews Christopher Hitchens

Comment #39619 by PN.Shreeniwas Aiyer on May 11, 2007 at 10:27 am

Sorry guys, I could be wrong.

Having watched his performance I sort of got a feeling that he is somewhat unstable, vitriolic and not the most level headed person I have known! I could be completely wrong.

It is a pity Geneticist Francis Collins' interview has not been made accessible in this website! I wonder why!

Listening to http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=9207913
I thought it would be wise to let these two men[Geneticist Francis Collins and Richard Dawkins] discuss God. It would be foolish to be a cheerleader for either of them.

What is important to listen to their points of view.
