Why is the beginning part even in this supposed "interview with dan dennet"?

To be fair, the BBC didn't advertise this podcast as 'an interview with Dan Dennett'. If the title seems misinforming, that is the fault of the guy who put up this page.

It's a weekly podcast called 'Start of the Week' where they always interview 3-4 people over 40 mins.

"If god is dead, then everything is permitted"

Is anyone else as fed up as I am with hearing this quotation?

Yes, but the interviewer was just playing the devil's advocate. It wouldn't be a very good interview otherwise.

Has anyone noticed that when referring to Gert Wilders and the VVD party, they use the word 'extremist', but they never used it once when referring to the Muslims who may call for beheadings and death?

I don't think banning a religion is the way forward, but I do have sympathy with the guy in that maybe we'd feel the same, if our lives were at risk. Bare this in mind before calling him a 'plank.'

With Europe being democracies, and Muslims becoming a bigger influence in our societies, they are a BIG vote to catch for any political party, and as years go by, more and more political policies will pander to Muslim needs and ideas.

We are too tolerant, and if you tolerate the intolerant, then there will only be one winner.

We must set examples now. Muslims must respect our way of life, or leave Europe. Once fascism gets hold of, or influences, power, we Europeans of all people should know the consequences.

Isn't it weird how parents will happily consent to a baby having his foreskin hacked off, without thinking of the child, and yet, would be horrified of giving consent for that child to have a tattoo -even if it was what the child wanted- at a much older age?

In the UK, it is illegal for any person under 18 to have a tattoo, but it's perfectly legal to hack away at a 6 month old baby's penis.

That child has to physically live with it's parents decision on circumcision for the rest of it's life. Surely, then, it should be the child's right to decide.
