Oh sweet Reason, what has the world come to?
This is all a dream, this is all a dream, this isn't real... Ha! I don't believe it's real, therefore it isn't! Yay!
52. When blasphemy bit the dust

Dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead!
Yay! Well... it's more good news for the Brits...
Richard, you blasphemer! You criminal (up until Wednesday)!
53. Evidence can't shake your faith if your faith excludes it as evidence
Comment #132933 by Elles on February 25, 2008 at 12:18 pm
That article was a mixture of pure confusion and hilarity. If I'm confused about what he's saying, does that mean I have the same level of intelligence as Dawkins?
I think I'll interpret it to mean yes, and ignore the logical fallacy.

Yay!
My favorite tale! Er... second favorite... alright, maybe third... And I'm only two thirds of the way through Ancestor's Tale so far...

I tried reading one of the fleas ("The Reason for God") last night at Barnes & Noble and felt my IQ drop 12 points. Not much argument other than "They say that it's rational to not believe in God, but how can they be sure that their rationality is rational?"

I started cackling violently at the Ben Stein quote. I might go see this film just for comic relief.

Here we go, my friends... Marching backward, backward into the glorious days of the 16th century when bigots burned the man who dared bring reason and enlightenment to the mind of man.
Sorry, had to quote Inherit the Wind.

Christians seriously need to stop getting offended whenever Atheists are out in public.
Does asking Sam Harris to go do a talk in Saudi Arabia count as a death threat? If Christians aren't hostile, then would they really make such an offer?
59. Blasphemy

I definitely agree with Dennett. People should be protesting in the streets over this. Somebody should do SOMETHING... At least sign that petition on the website the other article about this was posted on.
60. Scientists discover way to reverse loss of memory

Oh good... hopefully, someday I won't have to worry about going senile. Maybe I won't even have to worry about my parents going senile.

I resisted the urge to nod my head vigorously throughout...
Great job PZ!
62. MySpace: No place for Atheists?
Comment #118150 by Elles on January 30, 2008 at 12:17 pm
I deleted everything on my MySpace profile long ago (except for the picture of me standing next to a bust of Darwin). I only keep it because it's the only way to keep in touch with some old friends from middle school.
I find it absurd that accounts and groups are getting deleted because theists find atheism offensive. What? Is it a thoughtcrime now? If they find what other people believe (or don't believe) offensive, they need to get over it. If they find people getting together because of a shared lack of belief offensive, then they don't need to join said group.

I've got a new one to use against the tired "Hitler was an Atheist... what do you have to say about that?!?" argument that'll do away with it nicely...
Hitler was a group selectionist... what do you have to say about THAT?

Ha! 15 spaces above that untalented, ugly, overpaid actor they call Daniel Radcliffe!
Sorry, I just really dislike Daniel Radcliffe... with a passion. If they were making the Harry Potter movies in 1952, they would've made a much wiser decision casting Richard Dawkins as Harry Potter.
Wow, that was really random.

My school blocks Facebook, Myspace, and YouTube... and I can access this video.
Somehow, I think this video would do much more harm than kids getting distracted by social networking sites and Charlie the Unicorn.
There's something about them utilizing technology for the purpose of spreading Dark Age mythologies with a few references to modern life which irks me greatly.

67. Minnesota Atheists Interview Richard Dawkins

I just love it when people call in, and instead of asking questions, just talk about themselves.
Congrats to the Minnesota Atheists on getting their radio show started.
68. Ben Stein Bribing Schools to See His Anti-Evolution Movie 'Expelled'
Comment #113146 by Elles on January 18, 2008 at 4:54 pm
That is just disgusting... Especially if any public schools do it.
I suppose I'd feel better about Christian private schools doing it, but they're not the ones who would need the money, are they?
69. Dinesh D'Souza: Winner of the 2007 Bad Faith Award

Ha! I voted for Dinesh! Twice!
Don't tell anybody...
Anyway, Dawkins only got 5% of the vote but... That's 138 people who have never picked up a single one of his books.

"God-hating misanthrope"?!?
What the hell? I honestly don't know how I should feel about that outlandish statement... Do I laugh in the writer's face? Cry? Get pissed off? Throw one of Dawkins' damn books at him?

Methinks that any year that was a bad year for God, is a good year for the rest of the universe.
Lol at Richard Dawkins having followers... All the theists know that we're just another religious cult!

I wouldn't call it an 'OUT' campaign... more of an evangelizing campaign really.
Ew.
77. What have you changed your mind about? Why?
Comment #105837 by Elles on January 1, 2008 at 11:49 pm
"I'm almost embarrassed to say that last night I was actually reading The Selfish Gene, in bed, at midnight!"
Since I'm in China at the moment, it wasn't midnight my time, but at midnight in the time zone I'm usually in, I was reading The Selfish Gene myself... except I finished it. I was quite pleased to find this article right after I had finished reading it so that the book didn't get spoiled for me.

I love how he brought of Stalin and Hitler... and hung on to it.
Now, I know that this is not a thought worthy of a humanist, but the interviewer obviously had his head up his own ass.
80. Borders Tags Atheist Book with 'O Come All Ye Faithless' Cards
Comment #100252 by Elles on December 18, 2007 at 12:27 pm
A card, being given to Atheists, that says 'Come all ye faithless' gets the response "Christians have always been used as punching bags"?
Faithless. For the love of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, how is that directly an insult to Christianity? Would not a Pastafarian also have the right to call themselves a punching bag? A Scientologist? A Muslim? A Mormon?
I think that since the Christians are boycotting it I'll start doing all my book shopping at Borders...
81. Atheists' sign sparks controversy

"He says that Christians are always allowed to put up their displays, and of course that's what he says..."
I didn't detect ANY bias from that woman at all!
