You fonex_86, if you are right that sick is the word then it should be curable, what's the cure?
I agree that the, maybe indoctrinated and brain washed, suicidal maniacs that blow themselves up may not have been themselves first person victims. But I am convinced that if you do a root cause analysis you find someone that is.
Then when the habit becomes a religous virtue(a bad meme) it may even be self propelling.
By using downgrading value loaded words the writer try to win over the readers and polarising the mental state of the reader, which at its extrem will lead to more violence. Therefore my original outlash at the writer. Instead, why not try to understand why it happened in the first place, what caused it, what events lead up to the, for most people incomprihensible, action to blow oneself up with the goal to kill as many as possible. Then when enligthened one can take actions to stop this behaviour. And, I may say that the counter actions most probably does not include more bombing.

# God "fine tunes" the universe for ever....
I love this statement. It sounds like we are living in a computer simulation and some scientist in the outside universe is tweaking his favorite experiment. Hopefully he restarts from an old backup with new settings when we blow us up or the global warming fries us.

I fully agree with the last paragraph!
Since the atheistic standpoint normally is from the scientific side, it is only natural, and good, that atheistic reasoning is subjected to the brutal scientific scrutiny that has taken us out of the dark ages.

There cannot be any such thing as omnipotence.
Basically there are things that are at least in priciple doable and things that are not doable even for an omnipotent beeing, for example make a stone understand the bible(which not even humans understand). If a stone could do that then it would by definition not be a stone anymore.

If there is a god that created this universe and everything in it, then the creature must have done it from outside(whatever that means) this universe, from its own universe, of which we know nothing. It is then of course totally meaningless to state anything about the creature, if it is complex, yellow, bearded or homosexual. And even if it somehow manifested itself, by proxy, in this universe we could only say something about the manifestation, not about the creature.

This is obviously a PR stunt for the documentary.
Besides, there must be an enormous number of graves that fits the parameters, for example includes the popular names of Jesus,etc..

"Stop and think for a moment how sick this is." is a moral or ethical statement by a pompous external ass that fuels the polarisation of we and them. It has no meaning for someone that is the victim of the terrors of war. The fact that someone takes extreme actions as a last resort, I am conviced, is a human characteristic that has nothing to do with religion, although religion may make the decision easier.
How many people would not resort to vindictive violence if, for instance, they where left alive in despair after their family where killed?

The fact that people spend so much energy on debating fictious assertements is an intresting fenomena. If all we did were devoted to fiction then we would surely die out very quickly. So, since this fenomena exist, Is there something beneficial with it? If so wherein lies it? and is there an optimal level of effort for humanity to spend on this?
