As a roman catholic, I wonder if he goes into the little box to confess his sins. If he believes that an invisible being can forgive his sins, then he's not a deist.

Shouldn't they kill the cleric for debating a woman?

There was a reason why they had Miller testify at the Dover trial, where he did a good job. My only problem with him, is he is not as outspoken against religion as a Dawkins or a Hitchens would be. But I stated that this is a good thing if one needs to smooth things over at a trial, for example. Even Richard has said, that if he testified, the trial may have gone the other way.

[edit] Maybe I should clarify. I enjoy K. Miller as a scientist, but he is a Roman Catholic, and sometimes he makes statements that try to link religion and science, that works for some people, just not for me.[end edit]

You seem to get agitated fairly easily for no reason. I am not a fan of his, I wouldn't buy his book, I agree with alot he has to say though, plain and simple. If you don't like it, so what?

Irreducible complexity has been demolished so often it is ridiculous. Each and every argument that the cretinists have, has been trashed by the scientific community and others over and over again (and in public forums, like Dover). Yet they keep bringing them up. The Dover trial should have been on the four major networks, then maybe people would listen and learn. I doubt it though. Plus they would have had to bump, "Dancing with the Stars".

The believers look at Kirk Cameron's crocoduck, and say "yeah, that evolution stuff is nonsense". Let's face it, alot of these people are just too damn stupid to walk and breath at the same time.

There, I got that out of my system for the day.

Comment #192975 by mordacious1 on June 14, 2008 at 11:21 am

What's always bothered me about this Lama fellow, is that he is constantly saying that he wouldn't even kill a mosquito if it was sucking his blood. He has too much respect for life. Yet he is alway jetting around the world, the jets kill countless insects and even birds while taking off and landing. Plus, the polution the jet creates is harming the environment much more than me swatting an insect here and there. If he would just stay put or do more walking, he could save more life. I wonder how much life would be destroyed if he used a sailboat to move around? Just don't talk the talk, walk the walk.

So you'd like us to be at war with islam? Let's see, which of the following muslim dominated countries should we attack first? Malaysia, Turkey, Kosovo maybe? How about Bangladesh? Lots of muslims there. Nigeria? And they have oil too. Indonesia, Egypt, Jordon?

No, I don't think it was thewhitepearl's thinking that got us into the Iraq mess. Your's maybe. The fact that Falwell and Robertson had direct lines to the White House probably had something to do with it. The fact that the fundies got their president elected is what got us into Iraq. If you read about the neocons and their thinking about building democracies in muslim nations, how if we started on in Iraq, it would spread to the rest of the middle east, how they had these plans before 9/11 , then you'd know why were in Iraq.

You want to start a crusade, that worked out well previously.

Sorry, wasn't ignoring you. I'm stuck using my old dinosaur of a computer and it crashed, then started watching Celtics/Lakers.

The Buddhist monks never accepted any of the S. Vietnamese governments and started turmoil early in 1963 . At the time, the CIA claimed that they were linked with the communists. I don't think so, but maybe. They lost a lot of political power when we started supporting the south. This led to many violent riots, peaking around '65 or '66, but lasting throughout the war. Today, they are protesting in Vietnam Cambodia and Thailand, among other places in S.E Asia. It is usually the monks who do the rioting, but others get caught up in it too.

edit: Not that the rest of the world cares, but Celtics win after being behind by 24 . The only disappointment was when Pierce explained the win by saying "goddidit". Jesus hit four 3 pt shots.

Let's remember that GW got the ok from jesus before attacking Iraq. Religion is dangerous whenever people think there is a conversation going on between them and the invisible ones. The radical muslims tell their followers that their book, or allah needs them to blow up the infidel. The christians believe that such and such a war is ok because their leader got the go ahead from god. Insanity on both sides.
