The things I posted were in the words of Muhammad himself, and in the words of A'isha. I distorted nothing... to distort it I would have had to change it. You can look up any of the hadith I cited online. The Cannonical Hadith are archived online, you can access them and read up. I can post more too, mostly about the sanctioning of murder and rape.



I didn't make anything up, it was all real, and Muslims hold it to be cannonical and doctrinal. Muhammad fondled a 6 year old gold in the bathtub, by his admission and by A'isha's testimony.

1) He only every reacted to the criticisms of Islam, and not Christianity.

2) He refers to Adam as a "prophet", only Muslims do this. I have never seen a Christian call Adam a "prophet".

The use of the term "prophets" is something that is common to Muslims, heard less in Christian circles, as they focus on the "savior".

Thus to be a "democracy" a country must only allow elections and representation, and Israel does this... hence it is a democracy. There are non-violent pro-Palestine movement. They are often staffed by non-Arabs, from western countries. They are often joined by pro-peace Israelis, and both are shot at (rubber bullets) by the Israelis. So it has been difficult to get the movement going, as the IDF actively attempts to suppress.

Israel makes decisions based on "survival" mentality. They will attack other countries without legal mandate to prevent an unacceptable situation. To be fair, the Palestinians have mainly engaged in non violent protests for more than 40 years until the first suicide bombing in the 1990's. You really can't expect them to be completely non violent after their brutal expulsion can you? As you yourself have noted in your other posts the founding of Israel was not a case of gentleman agreement over tea. The Irgun was a terrorist army.

Well the nonviolent part isn't all that true. Prior to the foundation of Israel there were numerous anti-Jewish violent outbursts. Haifa being a notable example. All through the late 1940's and early and mid 1950's the Arabs had formed groups known as Fedayeen who were engaged in cross border raids into Israel, to engage in largely indiscriminate violence. These groups were supported outrigh by Egypt and by Jordan, through the fact that they simpyl did nothing to stop them (depsite promises from the British legion).

No one has screwed the Palestinians more than other Arabs. They have made refugees the focal point of their populace, distracting from incompetence, nepotism, and abuse which are the hallmarks of Arab government.

Palestine was going to be a point of struggle with competing claims (Jewish and Palestinian). The problem is that the Jews came with European education, European secularism, and European morals... The Arabs had the Arab converse of all of these. It was an issue of natural selection of sorts, in the competition for the land and resources the stronger more organized groups survived. In a matter of months after the establishment of the state of Israel, the Israelis had a government (working government) that is greater than anything the Palestinians have ever put together.



You are right in your "self-flagellation" analysis. Someone like _riverrun_ demonstrates this beyond any doubt. Constant and blind allegiance to Chomskian delusion and hatred. Sometimes America is right and sometimes wrong, what I can't stand is someone who assumes one of these to be the eternal a priori truth, and who manipulates evidence to maitain his or her delusion.

Non-violent protest would work far better. But non violence will not destroy Israel or kill hundreds of its civilians. One must question the goal of Palestinian resistance. The Islamic radicalism portion is pretty clear in its goal.

Israeli soldiers, have from time to time, used Palestinians as human shields (I can count 2 events where such a thing took place). Both of the soldiers responsible were disciplined, I believe. The Palestinians, use their OWN people as human shields... it is a PR move. They can then say, the Israelis shot a child, never mind that a militant was firing over his shoulder.

Some people will believe anything. The belief in Socialism (and it is solely a belief, because no evidence exists to support its effectiveness) is equivalent to belief in the risen Jesus, who will return to usher in a kingdom of peace and justice. Just because some whacko writes it in a book doesn't mean it is real.


You want to see where socialism goes, look at North Korea. A journalist had the following exchange with a group of students studying English in Pyongyang:


Dianne Sawyer: "What is democracy?"

Student: "It is the noun of democratic."

-Sawyer is shocked beyond words-

Sawyer: "Do you ever want to leave North Korea?"

Student: "No, it is best to stay here?"


Sawyer: "You like it here?"

Student: "Yes, the beloved leader, Kim Jong Il, provides everything we need, he is the best leader and Korea is the best country in the world."


These people walk around with Kim Il Song pins on their lapels. Brides even wear them, and forgetting to wear you pin is so disrespectful as to get you thrown into a gulag.


But everyone has free clothes, food, and medical care. Of course not enough of it, and many people are starving. And how does the capitalist south live? Very well, and they also have socialized systems, the difference, the South is a fundamentally free market.

Let's talk about the Israelis. I am always quite critical of Israel, and I hold it to a higher standard than its neighbors. The reason? Because it claims it is the only democracy in the Mid East (true) and it is the most moral army in the world (not true). But I will say one thing about differences. Two examples:



1) Israeli soldier shoots a young girl in the West bank.

-Reaction: investigation and prosecution by IDF.


2) Suicide bombing in Tel Aviv market.

-Reaction: Widespread celebration in Occupied Territories. Small children hand out candy in Gaza.


The IDF does a poor job punishing its own soldiers, although it often does it. I maintain the punishments are not severe enough. However, it is only Palestinians who throw enormous public celebrations upon the news of dead children and other civilians.


You said Israel is an Apartheid state... I can agree if we are speaking about the Occupied territories, but inside Israel? I fail to follow that logic. Are you equally critical of the apartheid that goes on in the Gulf States, notably Saudi Arabia, and Iran? In Iran, minorities are mercilessly discriminated against. In the Gulf states, Sub Continental labor comes to work, without rights, and are forced to live in sqalid camps out in the desert. My guess is you do not yelp about this. Can I hope for you to condemn this as seriously, or should I only expect you to ever whine about the nasty Jews and Americans, while the Muslim Arabs are perpetual victims?



And a question I must ask you, how would you deal with the following situation:


-You are an Israeli (say IDF general, or prime minister), on your southern border there is a constant stream of rocket attacks against civilian centers. Your citizens are demanding action to end this onslaught. You see that the Palestinians are firing these rockets from a pre-school, a mosque, and from in front of a hospital. What would you do? How would you protect your citizens from murder?

Of course you would have to first agree that Jews have the right to defend themselves... not every critic of Israel seems to agree to this right.

Your employment has nothing to do with your posts, I was only curious.


You are deluded if you think that Socialism will entail a withering away of the state. The only way you maintain the system of absolute control is through a large state system. I can tell you are deluded because you refuse to answer the following, which has been put to you a half dozen times:


1) How are resources allocated?
2) How are people prevented from starting private sytems of finance.
3) How do you prevent capitalists from coming to power?
4) How do you prevent abuses of minority groups and parties?



Since you refuse, time and again, to answer these points, it has become obvious that you suffer from delusions, one of which is an insane belief in the worst and nastiest ideologies of all time. You are wearing blinders. Socialism, to ensure its existence, must crush personal liberty and ambition. That is why every instantiation of socialism does precisely that.

No comment on the simple facts of what is necessary and called for in Socialism:




1) Lack of incentives for people to excel.
2) Forced transfer of populations.
3) Lack of liberty.
4) Government allocation of resources.



It would be oh so wonderful if you address my points instead of using misty eyed liberal nonsense to make some vague point, unrelated to my post. Marx was an idiot, and a person who was consumed with a great deal of hate, tossing away boureouis "freedom" and the like, all the while demanding an authoritarian system of anti-liberty, something far more reminiscent of Ingsoc than the utopia you describe.


I asked, and could you please answer, instead of launching into another emotive speech, how would resources be allocated to people who:

a) Want more
b) Need more


How do you justify a government, assuming it is elected, telling people how to spend their time and energy?


In this socialist world, is the government elected? Is it a democracy? If so it will simply be tyranny of the majority. What about people who would like to live independent of the state, and have a capitalist system? How would you purge these undesirables? Because in a capitalist country you are free to go live on a communal farm, and people do it, is there similar liberty under socialism?


The facts are clear, socialism will require the following:

1) A massive state apparatus.
2) A massive bureacracy to micro manage people's lives.
3) Suppression of opposing ideas.
4) Suppression of liberty.


This is undeniable, how else do you deal with those that still want a system of capital? Wanting to live unmolested? How do you allocate resources.


Now answer some questions instead of launching into some nonsensical speech, much more in tune with a lifetime student, than a person who has spent much time thinking about things in the real world.

I had almost the exact same interpretation. He needs an audience. Thus he has bounced around to a number of religions, undergoing 4 or so conversions. Atheism provided the audience, but he realized that people here would hold his bullshit to account, and he moved on. Now after this pathetic "epiphany":

Which is so sad, pathetic, and laughable, he has an imaginary friend who will always love him, the way every other person has refused to do, including two wives.

He was fawned over on FCOS for a few days, but I suspect even the Jesus crowd has caught on to his game. And thus he returned to RD.net to grab some more attention.

Take a look at my argument against Socialism above. I believe it successfully hammers down their notion that they could even conceivably create a better society. Socialism is a dystopia.

What about the rest of Saudi Arabia's potential oil fields. Which have not even been explored yet? You are certainly only talking about currently discovered oil fields.


You are right that increases in fuel prices will damage the economy because of the increase in food prices. That seems to be the most immediate problem.

Then there will be skinny poor people.
