There is nothing limp about Prankster thank you!
Dividing my time between this thread waiting for hello or god to make an appearance (my money's on god by the way) as it's gone quiet on the theist front and watching a tv programme about Stephen Hawking.
Besides sometimes coming on here makes me feel like an intellectual midget in some respects so I tend to sit back and skim the threads more than anything

Hello hello!
Another Friday Night another flea-byte rearing it's head eh? You were asked a few short hours ago to provide proof of the almighty's existence? Hmm yes? Well how's it going so far? Pretty quiet on the revelations front isn't it?
I generally come to this site because i don't believe in a 3000 year old stone age superstition ok? I KNOW he doesn't exist so YOU have to furnish proof-simply saying he exists cause of the difference in people's lives is a cop-out-that could be down to strong medication or a positive outlook on life not the infusion of religion. Therefore I implore you, nay beseech you to reveal him to us.......no puff of smoke no? No divine revelations?
Right, ok then, can you please go away, get the almighty to reveal himself and then pop back here when he shows up ok?
Till then? just go away......please

I remember adding a comment some weeks ago saying it was a really terrible video (bad acting awful special effects and unlikely to trouble the Oscars judging panel) around the time that Heath Ledger died and the WBC (boo! hiss!) came out with their comments over him
Stuff like this makes my blood curdle-not with fear just anger. The fact a child has been caught peddling this garbage whilst trying to convert his classmates seems to make it worse somehow-it's not something that can be ignored either and that's whats annoying me

My 3 current books at the moment are
"The Court of the Red Tsar" by Simon Sebag Montefiore
"Nazi Germany" by Klaus P Fischer
"A History of Modern Britain" by Andrew Marr
fiction would include the "Spellsinger" series by Alan Dean Foster plus the Bible-always good for a chuckle

The bit with the young child imploring people not to murder their children-unbeleivable-if they say religious indoctrination (or fucking pushy arsehole stupid parents goading them into it) is not a form of child abuse then this programme surely blows that assertion out the fucking water?
The bit where he cried was sad-perhaps there is a child in there but that child is stifled and absolutely (or so it seems) in fear of what will happen when he dies-he's terrified of going to hell poor mite-that's the parents fault surely?
Fucking sad really, a child of 7 or 8 imploring people to repent or go to hell

*skims* so whats going on here?
Apart from a post modern argument over physics I see an article where a guy has invented a perpetual motion device? Is that not cool?
"But instead of stopping, the rotor began to accelerate. Heins recounts that the first time it happened, the magnets starting flying off and hitting the walls, as he ducked for cover.
The magnetic friction wasn't repelling the magnets and wire coil. Instead, as Heins explains, the steel rotor and driveshaft had conducted the magnetic resistance away from the coil and back into the electric motor. In effect, the Back EMF was boosting the magnetic fields used by the motor to generate electrical energy and cause acceleration.
The faster the motor accelerated, the stronger the electromagnetic field it would create on the wire coil, which in turn would make the motor go even faster. Heins seemed to have created a positive feedback loop. To confirm the theory, Heins replaced part of the driveshaft with plastic pipe that wouldn´t conduct the magnetic field. There was no acceleration"
Sounds like perpetual motion to me -forgive my lack of knowledge about physics in general but assuming the guy is right what application will this device be used for?-ahh a light dawneth-a replacement for petrol driven vehicles methinks?

regarding the falklands conflict- I still maintain it was wrong for us to go in without diplomatic measures being taken first and no lives need have been lost
On the topic itself it's worrying when you've got armed-to-the-teeth fundies (in uniform) brimming with religious fervour getting ready to send their enemies to hell ASAP-Still smacks to me of a religious/military crusade against Islam/war on terror and being ordered or instructed to conform on religious grounds. I'd be really unsure of what to do if I was in the same position as Mr Hall
Difficult one isn't it?

Well I was 16 at the time of the Falkland conflict-I won't call it war -it wasn't
However the Argentinians did invade a British outpost ( Yeah I know we could have picked a better place-bit more sun and sand and a few palm trees wouldn't have gone amiss-but I digress) and our right wing government decided to get tough with the invaders-result? A ship heading the wrong way (away from the combat zone) is sunk and a couple of hundred British soldiers die, as you rightly say for sheep infested islands
My government whatever it is at the time, conservative or mock-socialist, has done and will continue to do questionable things but I do agree that a powerful religious government will be a scary prospect for all concerned (neutral or not eh Hourglass?)

I think Hourglass may just be covering his ears and saying "la-la-la-la" and hoping no nasty suicide bomber tries to blow him to bits/poison him/irradiate him due to a supposed neutrality for his little island. Monumental stupidity aside It does give me the shivers to think the biggest military power on the planet is "getting religion"-how long before unbelievers are converted not to xtianity but hydrogen carbon and other elements courtesy of a few well placed nukes-That's what's scaring me Hourglass, that should give everyone the shivers

So the bottom line is some one is abused because he doesn't want to be a "warrior for christ"?
Looks like a crusade is going on not just against Islam/war on terror (to me the 2 seemed to be linked) but also against "unbelievers" or those who won't follow the faith and are exposed to shame and ridicule because of it. Truly sad and terrifying
Hourglass I assume you live in the UK (like Me?)if so we are not neutral as we have ridden on the coat tails of fuckwit Bush and gone into the middle east at the behest of a vainglorious former prime minister. A man fed bullshit and lies by "experts" claiming the likes of Saddam could deploy WMD's in 45 minutes when it wasn't the case? No weapons found after years of looking and no proof he had them.....
