I think Quetz's 'Three Atheists and a cricket bat' will be season one and Steve's 'No weddings and a funeral' will be season 2.

whitepearl,
Oh towels! How fun!
What age are the kids you teach? Afterwards will you do the whole 'sit down and read book in coffee place' thing? Best way to spend a day.
Funny you should mention that - older bro called about an hour ago asking if i can go and pick him up from the train station at 8a.m. tomorrow, the jackass.

To avoid any accusation of trolling or being trolls(i know i am)....
- I think that religions should be fair game for any humour, satire and ridicule as long as it is not directly inciting violence against a person/group of people. -
Ok, that has them distracted, where were we? Funerals, ah yes - It's a date, i believe i also owe you a coke (i'll spice it up with something stronger *cough* vodka *cough*) :)
Although an important rule will be that anyone at my funeral caught praying for my soul will be tossed in the incinerator with me.
I agree, this feels like the quiet before the storm..... they are up to something.......
The slowness of today has turned me into someone who has made posting irrelevance into an art - ah well, at least we've had a few nice chats.

You burned her good. It's a shame you have to spend most of the time clearing up after her deliberate misquoting of you.
This is a classic example of today's School of Philosophy who sold the pass on freedom of thought when they brought their minds into bondage to what is termed the 'scientific method'.How ironic, someone who believes after death she will be judged on thought crimes is lamenting a perceived lack of freedom of thought.

Comment #224951 by Apathy personified on August 6, 2008 at 3:51 am
I'm going to guess that the bulk of these reviews were written before the 'journalists' had watched the show - they just left a few blanks to fill in to cover their tracks.
It amazes me that someone who intelligently tries to explain a scientific fact to people is accused of being evangelical and preaching to people.
I particularly liked the end of the mirror review though
The first being the danger of believing you have all the answers about anything.
Secondly for not realising that creation and evolution aren't mutually exclusive. That isn't the argument in the series - the argument is the change bit.
It's possible for a thing to be created and then change over time.

I've just read the 3 reviews that have been posted on this thread.
I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark here - The job of TV critic for any newspaper goes to the least educated and most underqualified of all journalists.
I'd also make the point that the reviewers were probably of the opinion that the most important fact of the show was that they were watching it.
My prediction is that by the end of the series, all the TV reviews will be describing RD as 'pushing elitist and intellectual ideas on people who are happy not knowing'
It was an excellent show, can't wait for the next one.

To further my point about cats being smarter than dogs (and a lot of humans i meet) -
If you have a tennis ball in your hand and pretend to throw it, a dog will look up, then search around for the ball, giving up after a while. Try a similar trick on a cat and the cat would just glare at you.

Teratornis,
I make it a point of principle to stop a debate if someone resorts to Reductio ad Hitlerum (Godwins Law) in an effort to prove their point (which you failed with - no one chose to be a victim of Hitler, but you choose to have a drink), so this will be my last post on this particular debate, feel free to have the last word. Honestly though, i had higher expectations of you.
I DO feel uncomfortable that so many Americans (100,000 was the figure repeatedly used) and people of other nationalities die as a result of alcohol abuse, it's a waste and is VERY tragic to those nearby (i have personal experience of this).
However, what you fail to recognise is that it is ultimately a personal decision, no one is forced to drink.
The alcohol industry is in no way perfect and i'm not defending a lot of what they do - but they can not take full responsibility for the actions of a few. Alcoholism is really a suicide, not a murder, as you like to call it.
To be honest, i think you and i have non-commutable views of reality.
