We can't use puppies in advertising?
Do I really have to explain this to you?
Look, I'm a business man. I am also slightly warped, but that's beside the point. The two most effective images to include in an advertisement are babies and puppies, but that is also beside the point. Dogs have been beloved pets in western culture longer than any of us has been alive, but that is beside the point.
I am sick of all of this silly shit. If a multitude of images and ideas that are perfectly acceptable, or even encouraged in western culture are offensive to your imaginary friend, or the culture based on your imaginary friend, I impolitely invite you to stay the hell away from western culture.
There are things about this culture that bother me on several levels, but I pick my battles carefully. I approach it with an open mind. I act where it is reasonable, and don't act a fool when it is not. I don't force change, but encourage it when I feel it is necessary.
If I ever tell the overwhelming masses that they have to adhere to my strict ideas of what is or isn't acceptable based on a delusionary belief that itself is based on a moronic set of rules put forth in a ridiculous dogma, based on an ancient text that I claim to be the work of the creator of the universe, who wants me to live a certain way, beat my wife, kill rape victims, deny my basist urges, refute all that is good and necessary in this amazing world and kill anyone who doesn't agree with my particular interpretation of said "holy" text....
I would be honored to have every "soul" who ever visits this site casually tell me to FUCK OFF!
But maybe that's just me.

I can't see why they've done it. I understand what you're saying, but it absolutely tears at me.
I'm holding out hope that the apology is fake, but I'm doubting it.
I'm in a particularly foul mood for this sort of thing because an aquaintance of my wife just found out that she not only is an athiest, but actually believes that we landed on the moon.
I've pretty much had my fill of this level of ignorance for the day.
I usually just pop in these forums with off color jokes and such, but it's a bad day.
If anyone here is offended by anything that I say today.... grow up, rub some dirt on it and get back in the game (probably a U.S. only statement but you get the point).

Look, some of you are still a little off on this.
Who gives a shit if the outrage was fictitious, what about the apology?
Is this where we are right now? This asif guy is certainly a tool, what of the police reaction, regardless of whether or not the outrage is real.
How much sway does this creep have, because that has to stop.
How much bullshit will the bobbies apologize for, because that SHIT MUST STOP!
Regardless of the level of irritation on the part of the shopkeepers and such, if one psycho fundy can get the cops to apologize for absolute squat, then I want every british person on these forums to tell me how sorry they are for the things they've said about Americans sacktickling the fundies here.
I actually agree with them on that, but aparently they no longer have reason to throw stones.

I'm actually a comic illustrator and I didn't know most of that!! I have kinda been out of the feild for about 15 years though.
Since I am a little old school I would certainly have a heated debate with you about Frank Miller, but I would defend his art more than his writing. I can't say that I would disagree with you on that one.

I admit that my understanding is rudamentory, and I may not have the grey matter to grasp it any further. I also know that it has been pushed way too hard for way toolong, but I can't help myself.
I just get all giddy!!
