Comment #28051 by MIND_REBEL on March 27, 2007 at 5:44 pm
Rush are great, and have been held back their entire career because they're freethinkers. If they got the say backing that Christian bands did, then their message would spread, and the world would be a better place, but the Christians running the music industry won't let that happen.
152. Happy 66th Birthday, Richard Dawkins!
Comment #27680 by MIND_REBEL on March 26, 2007 at 5:46 am
Dear Richard,
Two words; Thank you. You gave to me a love i thought i'd never have. You made it possible to see the world as it actually was, not as I wanted-it-to-be. In fifty years you'll be held in the same regard as Socrates, Einstien, and Newton.

Comment #27302 by MIND_REBEL on March 23, 2007 at 7:59 pm
Great Vid, although Hitchens is not a scientist, he does have a great grasp on many issues relevant to the progress of humankind. It's nice to see people from the softer sciences take a hard stance against the absurity of religion. The fight for atheism is really a fight for progress, and any and/or that accept the call of progress will be welcome in the movement for a livable tomorrow.
157. Debate between Alister McGrath and Peter Atkins
Comment #27090 by MIND_REBEL on March 23, 2007 at 5:45 am
Not impressed with McGrath. Him denying the existence of memes is like an alcoholic denying the existence of alcohol. Besides his meme denial, i thought his arguments were vaccous.
I would tell McGrath that were both atheists, just he believes in one less god than me.
Comment #26978 by MIND_REBEL on March 22, 2007 at 5:33 pm
It's a shame that Allen Orr, a so called "Scientist" feels the need to attack real science like The God Delusion in order to please some space merlin or whatever.
Dennet and Dawkins are two great minds that are actively working to ensure a better tomorrow for all of us, and i can't help but think that strawman attacks like Orr's, represent a desire to return to the stoneages where we're all bound and gagged by the meme of religion.

So true, so poetic. Sam Harris is really a wonderful person that could have been successful at what ever he wanted, lucky for us, he decided to dedicate his life to making the world a better place. One in a million.

164. Non-believers can be bigoted too
Comment #25661 by MIND_REBEL on March 14, 2007 at 3:14 pm
What crap. Bigotry is the expected outgrowth of irrationial thinking aka religion.
HITLER WAS A CATHOLIC. He was raised Catholic, made his soldiers wear belt buckles that said "Glory to Christ", banned all of Darwins works because the conflicted with Genesis.
Joesph Stalin was a Christian. He opened several churchs in the 1940s and made deals with the Nazis in 1939.
Mao Zedong and Pol Pot were both Buddhists who believed their actions would led to a better life through the irrationial belief in reincarnation, which is an eastern meme.
A true atheist abhors irrationiality, and all of those men were irrationial, therefore, they could not, by definition be atheists.

Comment #24994 by MIND_REBEL on March 9, 2007 at 3:36 pm
The Nazis were Christians, and HATED science. Hitler banned all of Darwin's books. Thats a fact.
Stalin was a Christian as well. He actually trained to be a monk, and opened several churchs in the early 1940s.
The truth is the first victim when memes take over your mental functions, and this video proves it.

Comment #24778 by MIND_REBEL on March 8, 2007 at 1:57 pm
Interesting, the roots of religion are clearly based in these fantasys that we promote begining in childhood. In order for humans to embrace the irrationail and illogical nature of religion they need to have been mentally trained for such nonsense for years.
171. Why there are almost no genuine atheists
Comment #24439 by MIND_REBEL on March 6, 2007 at 5:23 pm
OK, i'll admit that there's a fair amount of atheists that are only in it because it's fashionable right now. It looks cool, and thats why they do it. I know a couple of kids that used to tease me in High School for being atheist and wearing "god is fake" hats are now "non-believers", but i really doubt that they're real atheists. A good litmus test for "athiests" is getting them to do the Blasphemy Challenge. If they don't want to, then i doubt they're really sincere in their concivtions.

Comment #24432 by MIND_REBEL on March 6, 2007 at 4:20 pm
Hitler was a Catholic till the day he died, and most real historians agree. He was always consistant in his support for the Church. He also banned all of Darwins books. Stalin was a Christian as well, and even served as an altar boy growing up. If fact, he actually opened up several churchs in the early 1940s. Anybody interested in hearing the truth should read "Hitler's willing Executioners" which is written by a fellow atheist, so you know it won't be tainted by memes like most "history" books.

Scott Atrans attack on Sam Harris during the Beyond Belief conference were shameful. I think he does a disservice to all the real atheists involved in the struggle to overcome the meme of religion. People that fail to recognize the destructive nature of religion, ultimately, only end up giving cover to the extremists.
He's not somebody i respect on any level. His pathetic attempt to discredit memes only reveled that he's been infected as well. I'd like to see a formal debate between him and Prof Dawkins.

William Lane Craig is dumb, and needs to learn some basic logic. If god created us, then who created god?. Thats the question. He's invoking the fallacy of endless regress. It's like the ultimate 756 from Prof Dawkins TGD. Great to see true atheists standing up for their rights.

184. Dawkins v. Collins Debate
Comment #23360 by MIND_REBEL on February 28, 2007 at 5:52 am
I guess what i'm saying is that society might be better off if the scientific commununity were to somehow not allow theists like F. Collins to make it into the research world in the first place. It's unfortunate because he has given theism a certain degree of credibility, which it doesn't deserve. Maybe this could have been avoided if there was some sort of scientific oath or test, or even some sort of internal regulatory group that could make sure that "scientists" were really scientists in the day jobs and personal life.
185. Dawkins v. Collins Debate
Comment #23349 by MIND_REBEL on February 28, 2007 at 3:40 am
Francious Collins is a typical Christian, and i'm highly suspicious of any "science" he's involved in. I wish there was some sort of standard system to prevent theists from making it "in", or at least a disclaimer that went along with any research they've done so that normal people would know they're dealing with a memeset.
Religion is a delusion, and us atheists, need to live our lives without supporting memes in any way shape or from.

188. Religion in Conflict: Are 'Evangelical Atheists' Too Outspoken?
Comment #23300 by MIND_REBEL on February 27, 2007 at 5:52 pm
Well written, and spot on.
LOL at anybody using the term evangelical atheism. It's logically flawed. Atheism is a religion like not collecting stamps is a hobby, therefore, it's impossible to spread nothing, and creating terms like "evangelical atheism" is commiting the logical fallacy of "begging the question".
Comment #22740 by MIND_REBEL on February 21, 2007 at 6:48 pm
Poor, rural, America is fertile ground for the atheist movement. Great to see someone step up and break all those lame sterotypes the media tries to reinforce all the time. PS, if anyone wants to understand the poster and where he's coming from read Jim Goad's "redneck manifesto" it'll change the way you look at white poverty in the USA.

Comment #22582 by MIND_REBEL on February 19, 2007 at 4:53 pm
The meme of religion is so deeply attached to the American pysche it's doubtful that they'll ever give it up.
I know from personal expierence that many Americans, including some family members, refuse to see the light and embrace Atheism even after reading The God Delusion and watching "The Root of All Evil". I've basically stopped talking with my parents as a result, but in the end it's worth while because I truely know that people like me and Prof Dawkins are making the world a better place.
