So the good townfolk of Whoville think THAT was in bad taste?
It's not like it was a nativity scene in front of a mock colleseum with the little manger dweller hanging from a lion's mouth.

Neither party is God free, but the republicans have embraced and pursued the evangelicals for votes, pushed for faith-based programs, prayer in schools, and toe stubbing 5 ton, 10 commandment monuments on the court house steps. A republican administration put god on our money and the pledge.
Lesser of 2 evils. A no brainer for now.

Willard "the Rat" Romney burrowed out a deeper hole on CNN:
"The speech was NOT political, it was about keeping religion in the public square."
Not political? Really??? At this point in the campaign he pees politics! What a slimeball liar. And I agree with Hitch, Goober Godbot(Huckleberry Thin) is just as bad. At least Jim Nabors could sing.

Chuck is backing the ultimate Goober Godbot, Mike Huckabee(GOP candidate for pres and Baptist minister) and is in his campaign commercials.
Mitt "Mormon" Romney said in his big speech on religion yesterday that you must "have religion to be free". Oh, the stupidity!

Jeb used to close the taverns and stagger home to his trailer where Sabbath the cat was sleeping on the porch. Jeb thought it was a riot to pee on Sabbath who bolted leaving a yellow trail.
Jeb was suprised to come home one night and witness his smiling 4 year old already conducting urine absorbtion experiments on Sabbath's soggy fur.
They prayed together and went to bed. Coincidence?

The slave that Jefferson allegedly had sex with could have been a blatent social climber or early version of Nicole Smith.
Perhaps multiple Satanic field hands forced Jefferson to have sex with her at machete point.
Or he could have merely tripped and fallen on top of her while excited.
The above have the same historical proof as saying he raped her. None

"Can't we just have a mutually respectable dialogue without resorting to name calling?"
... Sorry, but godbots like bush, cheney, rove, regency college grads hired for their religious views and evangelical voters have brought terrible times to the United States and the world.

I like Christopher, but I wish he would stop trying to defend the war in Iraq.
Comment #51578 by TIKI AL on June 23, 2007 at 1:15 pm
Wow! Pan-Arabism, the Sharif of Mecca, the UK's role as instigator, the surrender of the Ottoman Empire and the fact that only 20% of Muslims come from Arab countries. Impressive, green one.
I once wrote an article on how the French Catholic Church was the root cause of the Vietnam War. That evil Cardinal Spelling had his hands in it too.
The Iraq War of choice was and is the worst "foreign policy" blunder in our short history. Period.
You and Hitchens can spin it all you like, but the hurricane season is coming and the National Guard is in Iraq.

...Maybe they were in a closet walking on eggshells because they didn't want to be burned at the stake.
Comment #51513 by TIKI AL on June 23, 2007 at 7:43 am
"So you think that fighting religious extremists is a bad idea?"
...Secular Saddam fought a war with religious extremists in Iran for 8 years with the help of the US. (I love that picture of Rumsfeld shaking hands with him on a funding trip to Iraq.)
Bush admits to getting his Iraq marching orders from his "higher father".(And he didn't mean Bush I on MaryJane.) He has also funded faith based schools and vetoed 2 stemcell bills because he IS a religious extremist.
When is Bush going to catch Bin Laden? Or does he "think fighting religious extremists is a bad idea?"

Elizabeth Hope, a devout evangelist, told the recantation whopper in a 1915 speech at an evangelical school in a town in Mass.USA 33 years after Darwin's death. It was refuted as pure fantasy by Darwin's children and other well documented eyewitness accounts of his death. Just google "Darwin's deathbed".
On the other hand, it is true that during his last hours on the cross Jesus recanted being God's son and rambled on in tongues about quantum mechanics while engaged in a masturbatory frenzy.

Rest easy, Godbots, your microscopic children are safe from the evil atheist scientists. The Bush Theocracy is alive and well. His presidential libarry will be in a wing of the creation museum in Kentucky.

One of the problems we have here in the states is that an atheist is still equated by the godbots as also being a communist, which is a leftover from the cold war.
The Knights of Columbus helped promote national religion by having "under god" inserted in the pledge in the 50's.
It's going to take a long educational process to stop the brainwashing.
