Fanusi,

I can't even leave for the weekend.

My addition: "No one ever got shot going east over the Berlin Wall."

I will say it once and I will say it again... I am distrustful of centralizations of power. I trust a government about as much as I trust a corporation. Both exist solely to perpetuate their own power. Both provide benefit.

People have organized to limit corporate power, which is a good thing. However, the government was once limited in similar fashion (at least in the US, and perhaps other western nations) it is constantly affording itself more power (ever generous with money that isn't theirs).

epeeist,

What do you suggest the government do? How much power should it have.

I find it interesting that people like Fighting Falcon say that they are these ultr-free market libertarians, seeking to end government interference yet are willing to allow the government to have all kinds of powers of surveilance. Not to mention the expenditures on the military.

Well communism would fuck up the dating scene.

Women are attracted to men due to:

1) Power
2) Money
3) The ability to dominate other men.

If you made it all equal how would dating work?

With that I depart!!!!

Not all do. Just those that buy into that culture. I work and socialize with a lot of blacks that identify themselves as African American and are simply great people.

See a lot of African Americans view whites as the enemy, and they view qualities of civilized society as "white" traits, thus they cultivate traits opposite these to solidify their identify and show non-submission in the conflict which (in their minds) is still going on. That is why Barak Obama gets called "white" because of the way he acts and what he says. He isn't white, he is black and he just ascribes to civilized ideas. There are no white and black ideas, only ideas. You can choose what you want to act out.

Jiten,

Hmmm the subservience of individuality and personal achievement to the state, whatever that state may be. A total sacrifice of liberty.

So proceed to tell me how it is going to be wayyyyyy different and it will be "worker owned factories" and what not. And then tell us how we have it all wrong and that in the perfect world (which will never exist incidentally) communism is perfect.

Very few free market supporters think it is perfect (save for FF maybe), they just think it is superior to hair brained notions of communism.

History has been the judge.

Comment #209047 by al-rawandi on July 11, 2008 at 2:28 pm

Brian English,

See this aboriginal problem is a bit different than race problems in the US. However it is quite similar to how American Indians were treated and now live (hint: just give your aboriginals casinos and call it a wash).

But here in the US, for instance, African Americans can get into college with MUCH lower GPA and SAT scores. If they write a sob story for the essay their odds are improved. Fair enough, I feel your situation growing up should be a factor, just not your race.

But the real causes are never addressed. For instance a cultural mileu that glorifies violence, crime, disrespect, misogyny, theft, abuse, and athletics over academics. This is not something white people can fix because this culture already views whites as the enemy, and distrusts them intensely. Most of the "social leaders" (the "not so revered" Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson front and center) spend their time defending the "expression" of African Americans and not actually helping anything.

The white reaction to this cultural issue is often seen as racism. For instance I wouldn't want my daughter to date a black man (if he hails from this culture) precisely because I don't want a man to date my daughter if he calls women "bitches" and "ho's", and thinks it is acceptable to abuse women physically and to commit adultery at every opportunity as the culture has come to glorify. These are the things that need to be fixed, not admission standards at a university. And only African Americans can fix them, that is why there is so much noise about other distractions because when it comes time to take some ownership, most people (of any race) start looking around for somone to blame.

Okay rant over.

Exactly, a lot of liberals aren't compassionate, they truly think some people are inferior and feel really bad about it and pretend to like you and give you all the advantages.

Think about affirmative action, here is what it says:

"You are too stupid and incompetent to get a job, and this doesn't seem likely to change. We feel bad, so here get into Harvard with shit grades, and we can go back to looking the other way."

It is annoying.

But by your definition the Islamic state is the same as the communist state. For those who support Shariah they say "well these punishments are never meant to be carried out, because the goevrnment should provide so there are no thieves, and people are spiritually centered so there is no adultery, etc...." It is the exact same nonsense as communism.

And as for communist views here in America, it was always the confused children of privelege out there wankering on about communism (I am talking Berkeley). All the poor kids were studying business and engineering so they could go make a buck. I always found that humerous. It is the other endearing quality of liberals, they assume since they are the educated elite they know what is best for everyone, it is as nasty a form of bigotry as the out and out bigots of the right wing, just disguised better.

If you keep reposting the same crap you think people will fall for it.

The good news is, that most people are committed to their own liberty enough to depress the handle on the intellectual toilet of communism, and send that ideology where it belongs. Everyone with half a brain knows that telling someone they will get the same as some lazy ass, even though they work 3x as hard will end up being a shit program.

Collectivism doesn't work, precisely because people by nature have a large individualist streak.

Communism is a brown stain on the underwear of life.

epeeist,

However, compare it with the regime it replaced and see if it was any better. Did the standard of living improve? Did education improve? Were people liberated from serfdom? Were human rights better than under the Czarist regime? Would things have improved if the Czar had remained in place?

Bad logic alert. Compare to:

"Islam was better than pre-Islamic Arab society."

lack of democracy

Communism in its nature is undemocratic, because it is a total change of society. A change from freedom to slavery to an unattainable ideal, one in which you make sacrifices for those who don't feel it necessary to work as hard as you do, and feel they deserve the same comforts.

A Communist society cannot be democratic because it seeks the destruction of everything even remotely associated with private ownership. While in a mixed economy like in the US or Britain, you can go off on some empty land somewhere and live communally if you so wish.

Compare the Free Market/Communist divide to the Western/Muslim divide. In a western society you are free to be Muslim, in a Muslim society any decision to be anything else will result in death or expulsion. You are free to live communally in the free market (it is your right as INDIVIDUALS) while in a communist country, any private ownership will be confiscated and you will be sent to prison (or a gulag or whatever).

If you like free thought and liberty you certainly won't be a communist for long. Humans evolved through competition and a degree of cooperation. Let's not fuck it up now.

I am going to only say it once: to blame the killing of millions in the USSR and China on communism is akin to blaming the actions of Nazi Germany on Darwinism.

No it isn't. The USSR claimed to be Communist. No Nazis ever said they were Darwinists. USSR did things in the name of Communism, Nazi Germany didn't do anything in the name of Darwinism.

Read and learn about communism, understand what it is, rather than spew rubbish about "need over life." Communism has NEVER existed. Socialism under the rule of a "communist party" (communist in name only) has become termed in the West as...

This is the point all you Communists MISS. You keep parroting this same line over and over and over "That isn't REAL Communism". The point is irrelevant, because the USSR, Cuba, North Korea, et al are what happens when you TRY to make Communism happen. When you centralize power and beat senseless those who were wealthy. When you collectivize things. When you nationalize industry. Look at Venezuela, Chavez means well, but he will fuck that country up six ways from Sunday trying "fix" things.

The attempt at Communism is what causes death and destruction, not Communism. Communism is impossible and unworkable, it counteracts the very nature of people. The attempt is what scares me.

Joe,

Your pathetic assertions have been dashed upon the rocks, yet you still come here and claim victory, with the humorous preamble "This is my last comment". Stop teasing us you rascal, we would all be delighted if you followed through on just one of these threats.

You keep returning because you are stupid enough to believe if you post scienceislam.com (which has been discredited by not only the scientists here, but anyone with even a modest command of the English language... which means everyone but you) one more time, people will say "Oh mountains of evidence are wrong, a 1400 year old book that says the earth is flat written by a man who said Satan urinates in your ears at night, is the true answer".

Where is the attraction in this Islam? Where I ask. Let's say I become a Muslims, I give up:

1) Drinking (*EDIT* "alchol")
2) Meaningless sex with strange women (see #1)
3) Tasty pork
4) Taking interest on my investments (how will I afford #1 and #2???)
5) Having time to myself.
6) Respecting women
7) Thinking for myself
8) Wearing anything longer than a capri pant (yes there is a hadith about how long your pants should be, and yes Muslims are singlehandedly keeping capri pants in style... gay men thank you)

Let's say I do all of this... suffer a life of sobriety and slavish devotion to an empty sky. Then what? I go and live with 72 virgins for eternity? Have you ever had sex with a virgin? Are you kidding me, that would be like me ending my baseball career to forever play catch with a blind kid with muscular dystrophy. No thanks. How about all the little boys running around in heaven? Yeah they bring me wine (apparently Allah is not a beer guy, but rather a stuck up French d-bag), but I am not attracted to small boys, I am afraid.

And worst of all I have to spend eternity with someone like you (assuming you aren't out raping children on the side and get sent to hell... or does that get you sent to heaven... I will have to check the Qur'an.... ok never mind).

Why would I give up all the fun and freedom to be locked in an eternal virgin-fuck-fest with a fucking loser like you? Where is the draw?

Islam needs a better marketing scheme. I can consult, I work for $1,000 per hour, take it up with your Allah, you have my number.

Joe it is time we burst your pathetic bubble one last time,

The worst of the colonialists - The Spanish and British with their greed and racism ethnic -cleansed the American Indians , viewed as "red skins" to the point where there is not many of them left. Include their savage slave-trade record into that to.
Australia and South Africa are also stolen lands.

Slavery is an awful thing, you are right. Thus we in the west have outlawed the practice. Islam still condones slavery and concubinage. Secualr countries can attempt to right wrongs and improve their societies, Islam can only look into the misty past for some Iron Age solution.

Rape, stealing, killing, aldutery, divorces, teenage pregnancies, single parent mums, alcoholics, junkies, sueing culture, selfishness, people that place their parents in nursery homes and on and on..

Really? More than 1 in 70 Iranians are drug addicts. The sex trade is alive and well in a number of countries. In Yemen girls as young as 8 are forced into marriage. In Mauritania, slaves are still traded. And believe it or not, STD's are on the rise in Muslim countries.

WESTERN POWERS CONSTANTLY FOIST TYRANNICAL RULERS UPON THE IMPOVERISHED MASSES. THEY THEN KEEP THE TYRANTS IN POWER THROUGH TAXPAYER MONEY AS WELL AS ILLICIT FUNDS.

Unfortunate. I don't agree with this practice, people must have the right of self determination. Let's see which Middle Eastern country has exercised self determination: Iran. And now citizens are exceuted for changing religions, and writing "blasphemy" on the internet. And the other? Israel...

THE FREEDOM TO ACT WITHOUT REGARD TO THE ULTIMATE CONSEQUENCES

You mean like bin Laden, the Saud family, Iranian clerics, Hezbollah, Hamas, al-Qaeda, Fatah al-Islam, Islamic Jihad, FLN, Qaddafi, Hussein, Taliban, ISI, PFLP, PLO, AIQ, the Alawis, PKK.... Which one of these murderous groups (MUSLIM) is worried about ultimate consequence?

And in America, people are held accountable for their actions.

And as for all the books... I highly doubt you read any of them.

"...Through the Arabs it was and not by the Latin route that the modern world received that gift of light and power."

Can you at least post the website where you copied this from? And we went over this, the Arabs translated these books, and managed not to lose them, then the Europeans came back from them

But let's assume you are right... the Arabs did all of this for European enlightenment. Where, then, was the Islamic enlightenment. This was before colonialism... so why didn't the Muslims rocket through the Industrial Revolution with the rest of the world???? What held them back... care to answer?

All this is common in the West. The modern attitude towards woman is one of inequality in wages, seen as sex objects in office environment, belittled by derogatory comments and even physically harrassed to.
America a country which prides itself as the bastion of freedom, sex scandals, even in the highest office, are routine. Women are exploited for so-called "artistic sex marketing" purposes are far from free, unless freedom is defined as free sex, sexual harassment, coercion, and/or rape.

This is ridiculous. Things have GREATLY improved for women in the US, while they have remained the same in Muslim countries.

Funny thing, in Islamic law women are worth half that of a man in terms of testimony due to their "deficient" intellect. Where are such rules in western jurisprudence? Huh? Fucking no where, because our society has advanced while Islamic "society" treats women like baby machines.

Your arguments are trash, your grammar is trash, your attitude is trash, and your religion is trash. Get a fucking clue.

I understand. I have already been through the pain, the problem is most Muslims in the US aren't that bad, they can carry a conversation and are generally good natured. But maybe 20% think like this, and for them... I say "load the cannons and fire when ready!"

This would explain break downs in various forms of negotiating with Muslims:

1) "Okay Mr. random Muslim leader/dictator, here we are over here"

2)"No you're not"

1) "Uhhh ok well we live/work/hang out/ park our ships here. And we have done so for 25/50/100 years".

2) "No you haven't"

1) "Ummm well here are the maps here, and the history books here... and here is the UN vote."

2) "All lies perpetrated by Jews and Crusaders."

1) "uhhh well we really don't want to bomb the shit out of you so let us get this resolved here"

2) "Screw you Allah will carry us to victory on a winged horse."

1) "Okay have it your way"

3 days later after bombings the Muslims surrender en masse and begin blowing up school children.

Tell me, how is English your first language (it is isn't it) yet you it reads like you are a Turkish high school student? What the hell happened to you, shit like "I am on the truth". What the fuck does that mean anyway.

As for acrobatics, I have addressed your points, as others have. We have taken the sharp knife of reason to your nonsense and destroyed it, before your very eyes.

Enjoy your meaningless existence, ignorance, and low wage job and continuing enslavement to a non-existent god. The proof of your error will be the remainder of your life.

Bonzai,

Ohhh this is just a perfect Islamic response, here is why:

SAHIH BUKHARI Volume 8, Number 188: During the pre-lslamic period of
ignorance I saw a she-monkey surrounded by a number of monkeys. They were all stoning it, because it had committed illegal sexual intercourse. I too, stoned it along with them.

Muhammad stoned a she monkey for fornication. There you go.

qomak,

Exactly, believe it or not, classical training in the Islamic Sciences would preclude much of these interpretations.

What Naik and Harun Yahya do is take an individual verse, remove it from the context and then distort the words (of course in the vacuum that they created) and say "See this is kind of like xxxx".

In fact the most important piece of studying the Qur'an and what precedes every entry in a book like Ibn 'Arabi's Ahkam al-Qur'an is the term Asbab al-Nazool meaning "The cause of revelation". There was some situation occuring and a verse was 'revealed' (read, "made up by Muhammad"). Meaning these are strongly relevant to context. And there are plenty of other additional stipulations which are quickly disregarded by people like Yahya who have NO training in the sciences (unless you count interior decorator).

Joe,

I happen to know Hamza Yusuf (Mark Hanson before he became a Qusling). He once insulted my co-author (a kind and caring man who has fed poor students at Berkeley for 20 years, and a Muslim himself) in an extremely arrogant fashion, I have nothing positive to say.

He once "reviewed" "The God Delusion", he did so without reading it, not too impressive for an intellectual. He also says descriptions of heaven are LITERAL portions of the Qur'an... that means virgins and young boys to "serve you".

I must ask, do you prefer little boys or virgin women? Remember my post on Abu Nuwas and his "Joys of sodomy" poem?

Fanusi,

You are just meaner than me, and I thought I was the meanest guy ever.

As for Islam and the ass kicking. It will surely happen... the gulf will widen once oil is no longer in demand or no longer in existence. At this point the void that seperates the two worlds will be so painfully obvious. Will this show Muslims they need to get their act together??? Some maybe, but most no. It will show most that Allah needs MORE piety from them, and MORE shariah. They will come to resent the west as the glaring evidence of the failure of their world view.

The military ass kicking will come when this resentment spills over into indiscriminate violence, on a level not yet seen. We can contain this in the Middle East and South Asia, but what of the immigrants??? Same deal, some will get it and come over into reality and some will resent the society that they live in, despite all the benefits they reap. It will be ugly, and my biggest fear is the ungliness that may come to confront it. I don't like the idea of conflict, I don't like the idea of a rise in extreme nationalism in reaction to an immigrant group that hates its host country and refuses to integrate. But it may be a foregone confusion now.

AS FOR SECULARISM - IT HAS FAILED MISERABLY

Why don't you, with all your shining intellect go look through a list of countries with highest per capita GDP. Take out all the countries that only have a single industry sector (meaning they have some expensive natural resource, and only one, that they sell) and see what is left.

That's right, looking at diversified economies look at the quality of life... who is at the top.???? Yes secular countries. Which countries have the longest life expectancies? Yup, secular countries. Look what countries prosecute criminals for their crimes... yep secular countries. Look at which countries have educated and properous women, yup secular countries (your promises of marriage and joyless sex noted).

Let's look at which countries kill people for changing religions... Yup Muslim countries. Look at which countries amputate the hands of thieves... ypu Muslim countries. Which countries have the highest sales of Mein Kampf and The Protocols of the Elders of Zion (I am assuming you know what these books are, but ass-u-me, yeah)... yup Muslim countries. Which countries have societies that use gang rape as punishments for offending honor... yup Muslim countries. Which countries still stone people to death... yup Muslim countries. Which countries maintain a racist labor state.... yup Muslim countries.

The verdict is in you bungling twat... Secularism wins... Islam loses. If you need more specific evidence... look at Afghanistan. A bunch of 7th century fucktards (40% of whom, when polled, thought the earth was flat) being splattered all over the mountains by invisible American planes and guided weapons.

The ass kicking of Islam has only just begun, socially, economically, culturally, and militarily. Once the oil dries up... oops.

Joe,

Task #1: Show me where Ali Sina is wrong in his critique of Dr. Naik so I can be corrected and learn the truth of Islam... believe it or not I know more about this religion than you, and I would make a fine Shaykh at al-Azhar.

Task #2: Read this:
I have really had enough of you. You have obviously eschewed my advice on re-reading your posts and the responses to them. I am weary of sifting through your broken English (especially shameful as it is your first language, but no matter). Let's make something abundantly clear... Islam did not transform these people per se. What did you might ask (or might not as people who think fishing lures are animals are your doyens)? Well that was the transmission of the Greek philosophers, combined with the teachings of Nestorians. Yes Nestorians... put that on your "to look up later" sheet.

In fact some of the most brilliant Arab/Muslim philosophers led themselves into, that's right, apostasy. Who you may ask (because in the vast expanse that is your ignorance you have not bothered to learn) well Ibn al-Rawandi (alas this is not my real name, so you can stop google searching me) and the other Abu Issa al-Warraq.

Now if you knew anything about these people you would have heard of the most devestating bit of Arabic philosophy... the Kitab al-Zumurrud, written in that beautiful form of kalaam (Qala wa Yuqal Lahu) it thoroughly demolishes any notion of prophethood. And is a brilliant piece of kalaam as it pretends to make the argument FOR prophecy, but does so humorously weakly, yet officially, and is demolished by the opponent. Liken it to Ann Coulter turning out to be a liberal... get it?

Yes yes yes, it was Arab philsophers who most mercilessly disembowled the notion of prophethood and the divine origin of Muhammad's message.

Don't forget Ali Sina and Dr. Naik, show me where Sina was wrong.
