No one is saying that the creation/science debate can't be discussed in schools. NOT, I repeat NOT, in science classrooms. I think this is an edge of the wedge issue and if creationists have to be "reached", then screw 'em. I never got to set the curriculum in my classes.

For those that watch Family Guy: When Lois was running for Mayor and no one was supporting her or listening, then she changed the answer to every question to: 9/11. What do you think about global warming? "9....wait for it.....11" *claps, cheers, and voices of support. This my friends is the american electorate.
206. Letter from Sir Richard Roberts asking Reiss to step down
Comment #248138 by mordacious1 on September 15, 2008 at 6:17 pm
1. Prof Reiss was not qualified, IMHO, to hold this position to begin with.
2. Anyone in the Royal Society wishing to ask for him to resign or be removed, has the right to do so.
3. Has "Expelled" made us afraid to question unqualified religious persons that are in positions to affect science and/or science education? We must not pander to these people because we are afraid of the backlash.
4. At least one poster has suggested that Prof. Dawkins "stay out of it" because he is an atheist. This is bullSHIT! I'm an atheist, therefore I cannot make public statements about issues of this magnitude?
5. The guy should not have been in this position to begin with and the sooner they remove him, the better. If the religious complain, too bad.

Comment #247649 by mordacious1 on September 14, 2008 at 5:43 pm
Apology accepted, with the caveat that they admit that there is no god. I think this is just a way to get thinking people back inside their ludicrous churches. "See, we're not that stupid, we believe in evolution. Please come back, bring your cheque books."

Sorry, american football day...slow on my replies.
I know that you and I are probably never going to agree on this but, I use the word morons because I think all religions are potentially dangerous. I think that the UK needs to rein in both its muslims and its xians, and any other religious group that meddles with the government. This goes for the US too. It's really time to build up that wall in both our countries.

Do you mean terrorists are not cowardly or suicide terrorists are not cowardly?
I can see your argument for the latter, though I don't necessarily agree, but the former commits cowardly acts quite frequently. Killing unarmed civilians for example is cowardly, wouldn't you say?

According to Christoph Luxenberg (pseudonym), if you translate the Quaran using Aramaic, it is actually 72 white grapes (a delicacy 1300 years ago) that the martyrs will receive when they get to heaven. Can you imagine blowing yourself up hoping to get laid for eternity, and then being handed a bunch of grapes? Ha ha.

"I have mixed feelings about Rod Liddle, but in this piece he is superb. Instead of taking them seriously and being afraid of them, the right way to deal with these Islamic morons is to LAUGH at them. Well done Liddle."
I don't know about laughing at them. One site I was on today stated that since 9/11, islamic terrorists have committed over 11,000 deadly terrorist attacks. I'm not afraid of them, but they are killing innocent people. I also don't see their desire to kill waning anytime soon.
[edit]This morning: At least 20 were killed by a bomb in New Dehli, set off by islamic militants.
