401. Protesting the Creation Museum

Comment #48312 by bluebird on June 7, 2007 at 11:46 am

Part of the problem is the U.S. 'No Child Left Behind' education policy, or as one critic calls it, "No Child Gets Ahead". It has weak emphasis on math/science.

Also, there are too many "empowered, but not educated" classes.

I understood; it was for any youngsters who might be reading, there's enough ignorance already.
I thought this was a clear-thinking oasis...

Will somebody put a statue of Rachel Carson, Carl Sagan, et al next to this one, please!?!

They'd say that a potato chip that resembles Richard Nixon is a random act of nature, but, a grilled cheese sandwich with the alleged face of Mary is something to flock to, cry over, then sell on e-bay to the highest bidder.

If we drive past this statue on I-70 during our next camping trip, we'll all give it the evil eye.

Facetious, not ironic.

These guys (and gals) may not be the most attractive ocean critter, but are fascinating. They and their brethren deserve respect and protection.

Gott in Himmel, vas dreck!!

There's a shortage of science students in the U.S.; maybe one reason is they know there's a chance of having to "work" with these types of people :(

Are there any Frank Zappa or Neil deGrasse Tyson fans on this site? Just curious...

I think the Pokemon is a Picachu; I'll check with the experts (our boys) about it's powers.

Yes, nothing made-up comes close to what's natural and all around us. Equally fascinating
are the absurd looking critters that are extinct.

We second the motion that this website is grrrreat; it has info that we wouldn't see otherwise. It's a family fave :)

Hi BAEOZ,
Frankly I don't know! Our boyz lifted the image from the web and transferred it here. This site does have a few photo options/directions; think it's where you register.

Will someone else help please:)

Hi Dr Benway
Glad you like the avian avitar; actually it's just an image lifted from the web.
You must live next to a forest with the variety described. To see Eastern bluebirds, try a large park or better yet out in the country.

Good thing our boyz will be out of school before the inevitable trickle-down effect. Willard and his type need to stay FAR away from education; stop muddying the waters!!

420. Goodness without Godliness

Comment #42918 by bluebird on May 20, 2007 at 5:39 am

We do hope there is, or will be an atheist on-line dating service. Our offspring insist their mate be atheist, and here in the so called 'bible belt' the pickin's are slim.

Our son used some of these points for his argument against prayer in school debate. He was met with incredulous stares. Hopefully that means he set a few of them to thinking.

The discovery/movie of Giant Tube Worms was awesome, now this. We hope to see these "critters" at a Big Screen complex soon, with 3-d glasses, and popcorn:)

Wonder if Jean-Michel Cousteau was part of the team??

Our 'Freidenker' bumperstickers are arriving soon...

Why do people presume to know us (as atheists and/or personally)?? A local columnist wrote "Even the atheist embraces god when they know their number is up". How could she know?!?

Yes, this website is a refreshing reprieve from all the dung, codswallop, inanity, et al, we encounter almost daily.

debaser71 has a good idea~~~I remember watching a show about how the director of a Natural History Museum in Colorado had to inwardly seethe while a Christian group toured and pointed out the "falseness of this place".
Time to don our athiest teeshirts and motor to O-H-I-O.

Ugghh, another reason we probably won't send our sons to a Missouri college (not Kansas either!!). I can see Gov. Matt Blunt approving this.

My husband is a letter carrier (US Postal Service); he's volunteering to deliver the post-rapture letters.
Hmmm, wonder if contract negotiations would be any easier Post-Rapture?? :)
