Dear Mr Dawkins,
I don’t know if you will read this personally or if these messages get to you at all, but i wanted to write to let you know you are still inspiring people, including me.
I grew up a Jehovah’s Witness, but with many questions unanswered i left the religion/friends… acceptance of family when i was 16. Conditioned to believe in God but doubting religion i just considered myself agnostic. I’m 22 now and just a couple of months ago really started looking into what is truth. Where all the answers lye, and i found justification for everything that has come to be with evolution.
I’m no scientist, i’m a dancer on a cruise ship, but this is what makes sense to me and i just want to know more.
With my background being so religious, my girlfriend also, not a Jehovah’s Witness but still a devout christian, i feel i need to know both sides of the argument. Research into the hi(story) of the bible, it’s prophecies and also the facts of evolution. There is an overwhelming amount of information and i’m only at the beginning, but on my way to learning much more. Not so much to go out and prove to the people i love that they are wrong, more so to back myself up if i were ever to be questioned.
I think acceptance of each other is vital for living. Those around me know i’m not religious, i don’t attend church, but still consider me a believer in god. The bible says god is love…. I believe in love, I guess in some way they are right.
If there are any pieces of information you or anyone recommend, things that are a must know I would love to look into it. I want to gain all the knowledge i can to back up myself, you and everyone in this forum when i am questioned.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge,
