I am not a convert in the traditional sense – I had rejected the notion of a God at age 4, despite much familial and societal pressure to follow the frankly ridiculous set of beliefs.
However, your books, most notably The God Delusion, has led me to shift my mindset with regards to religion. Previously, I had regarded religion as a fantasy, but a benign one. However, your excellent comprehensive evaluations have led me to deem religion as a threat to our civilization, and I no longer sit back and endure the dogma of others. I'm determined to help to fix this problematic delusion.
You opened up a gateway to a world I had never imagined. Once liberated of the suppressive force of anti-atheism, I was free to explore the hours upon hours of truth that floods books and the evidence-based sections of the internet.
It was a feeling that I'm sure must be very similar to that of a devout follower casting off their religion.
“Religion is am insult to human dignity. Without it, you'd have good people doing good things, and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, it takes religion.”
