Dear Professor Dawkins,
I was 17-18 years old and had a ripe, inquisitive nature. I couldn't stop reading whatever I could get my hands on when I stopped and said, “Cole, for years you've been studying the world religions — but when did you stop and look at the other side of the coin?” When I did a search for atheism, I found a review of your book “The Selfish Gene.” An Amazon reader wrote that it changed his life, destroyed his faith, and plunged him into a depression! I said, “Wow, if that book could change someone's life that drastically the man is either very weak-minded or Dawkins is amazing!”
When I finished the book, I realized the answer was both. Since I have read nearly everything I could from your library. I just received my copy of “The God Delusion,” and you've delivered again.
Thank you very much for enlightening those of us laymen who dare cross the gap between pseudoscience and reality. You've done the world a great service with your efforts — and I hope you don't give the Bill O'Reillys of the world too much pause 😉
Take care and best wishes to you and your family,
