Dear Professor Dawkins,
Thank you for completing the cleansing process of the final remnants of my superstitious (while benign, well-meaning and, at times, hilarious Church of England) upbringing.
The cleansing process started with Professor Steve Jones over twenty years ago and (although I am bound to miss out many important names) via Matt Ridley, Steven Pinker, Susan Greenfield, Carl Sagan, Brian Eno, Lewis Wolpert, Richard Leakey, David Hume, Gore Vidal, Bertrand Russell, Antoine Laurent Lavoisier, Jose Saramago, your previous books starting with “The Selfish Gene” and the national treasure that was Douglas Adams, it has now been complete with your book “The God Delusion”.
It really should be compulsory reading – perhaps as an alternative offered to people on the “Alpha” course – if you know of a rich second-hand car salesman to sponsor it?
I am finally left with, not answers, but the right questions to ask. May the Gene Organising Devise bless you!
