Conversion is perhaps too dramatic a term for some of us. All my life I have studied the bible with fervor. Not as a zealot looking for enlightenment but rather as a man with many doubts looking for some scientific basis for the tome that has occupied my mind since childhood. I would dissect parts of the old and new testament and then turn to biblical archeology in an attempt to validate what I was reading. A stalemate was the best I could come up with. After reading Professor Dawkins' book I began to realize what I've always felt to be the truth and it was a cataclysmic event. No longer did I have to look up to speak with a silent God and looking down between my feet there was no Satan to run from.

It is hard to describe the feeling of freedom and serenity that came to me after two readings of The God Delusion.
Thank you Professor Dawkins.
