Dear Prof. Dawkins,

first of all I want to mention my curiosity, how long it may take before mails for you may be adressed to “Dear Sir Dawkins” – is the United Kingdom already that modern?

Then, funnily, I have to admit that I am NOT a convert because of one of your books.

I am a convert because of Douglas Adams' books, esp. The Salmon Of Doubt which I read as his second after Last chance To See. The Salmon of Doubt was the reason as well as for reading all of his other work (which is not sufficiently enough after his too early death) as well as for looking what this Richard Dawkins had written. And so I read The Selfish Gene and The Blind Watchmaker (in English, as 2003 it was not sold in German as far as I found out). And after that I unterstood what Douglas meant.

As a matter of fact, so I am convert (like him) because of your early works, on recommendation of Mr. Adams'.

Today that doesn't make any difference, as afterwards The God Delusion came out and made clear what was (maybe) in little inches wasn't already clear.

Therefore: Thanks!

Heiner Endemann,

Cologne, Germany
