Dear Professor Dawkins,
I hope you’ll be pleased to learn of a new website, ReptileEvolution.com. It describes and illustrates over five hundred mostly prehistoric reptiles that are part of the largest gamut phylogenetic analysis of the Reptilia (= Amniota) to date. Due to its size, the recovered single tree more accurately echoes evolutionary events. Many former enigmas are now firmly nested. Some earlier nesting errors in smaller traditional studies have been corrected by virtue of the greatly expanded size and gamut of this study.
The Large Reptile Tree project grew out of an earlier book, “From the Beginning – The Story of Human Evolution” (Little, Brown) by David Peters (1991) that has just been made available as a free online PDF at DavidPetersStudio.com. FTB was the first, and so far the only book to trace the evolution of humans from raw chemicals, to single cells, worms, fish, reptiles, mammals and primates listing the added traits at every one of the 36 steps. New discoveries have refined the message, but the sequence holds true.
I had hoped that this would answer Creationist “objections” to a lack of transitional taxa in the human lineage by presenting the entire “ladder” of our evolution in strict focus.
Thank you for “The Greatest Show On Earth” which I just finished.
