Mr. Richard Dawkins
Dear Mr. Richard Dawkins,
I am an atheist by birth – like any other child. As my parents didn’t choose child abuse, I remained an atheist till today (6.999999 on your scale). Similarly I don’t abuse children due to which my children are atheists as well.
The biggest concern to me is when I see people turning towards religion. Many scientists are also seen to be turning towards religion. Even though the numbers are not that high, it is of a concern to me that it may affect my children when they grow up.
I understand that it is very difficult to answer my questions in detail, especially when you get hundreds of emails per day. But can you point me to literature that helps me take precautions to prevent my children getting dragged into religion.
1. Why do people turn to religion after being atheists for some time. This somehow doesn’t make any sense to me, unless they have mental disorder or something.
2. What should one do to keep children or teenagers from getting carried away by religion, which in my opinion is worse than the concern of drugs.
Your response is highly appreciated
