For Religious Conservatives, Success and Access at the Trump White House

WASHINGTON — The people who filled the pews of St. John’s Episcopal Church for a private service on the morning of the inauguration were a testament to the ascendancy of the religious right in Donald J. Trump’s Washington: James Dobson, the founder of Focus on the Family; Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council; James Robison, the Christian television preacher.

Right after Mr. Dobson blessed Mike Pence, and just before the congregation sang “Onward, Christian Soldiers,” Mr. Robison took to the pulpit and asked Mr. Trump to rise.

For six minutes, the president-elect stood as Mr. Robison heaped praise on him, extolling his ability to inspire a crowd, his choice of the deeply religious Mr. Pence as a running mate and his wisdom in selecting a White House team that he deemed “the greatest cabinet I’ve ever seen.”

So the delusional mutual admiration society, put together one of the largest collections of science illiterate ignoramuses ever to disgrace the White-House and insult the intelligence of Americans! – with most specialist areas of nuttery represented! –
Evangi-nuts, YECs, anti-vaxers, Climate change deniers, quackery advocates, sponsored carbonaceous Luddite stooges, military Mad-Dogs, Zionist fanatics, racists, homo-phobics, anti-abortionist-zygote-protectionists, Flood-Myth apologists, psych(ot)ics, Rapture seekers, faith-healers etc. !

  • Well the “greatest cabinet I’ve ever seen” has just lost badly in court over the Muslim ban and now General Flynn has resigned as National Security adviser after it turned out he really did discuss sanctions with Russia and then lied about it. Here’s the kicker though. It turns out it was acting AJ Sally Yates who warned Trump last month that Russia could potentially blackmail Flynn over this and he was now a security risk and Trump ignored her and then also sacked her over the Muslim ban which she was also right about.

So it seems that Trump’s actual superpower is being able to pick really bad people and then ignore good advice about them. But then we always knew that.

Perhaps she can sue him for wrongful dismissal, for the Flynn issue, and when more courts have ruled on his barmy ban! – Although I am not sure what protection, if any, Americans have from rogue employers!

It seems that it is not only Christian “religious Conservatives” who have access to the White House!

    http://www.latimes.com/politics/washington/la-na-essential-washington-updates-trump-in-1st-summit-with-israel-s-1487176588-htmlstory.html

At a joint news conference ahead of their first White House summit, Trump said he would support whatever solution the Israelis and Palestinians wanted.

“There is no greater friend of Israel,”** Netanyahu said** of Trump, then singled out Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, as a lifelong family friend.

Kushner, a 36-year-old observant Jew with no formal diplomatic experience, has been tapped by Trump to lead negotiations with Israel and the Palestinians.

    Yeah!
In the Trump deluded mind – Just who the Palestinians want as an “honest broker”!! 🙂

Another example of “Trump brilliance” – in contrast to that old two state solution, professional diplomats have been working at for years!

Not only has Trump hired the worst bunch of dangerously incompetent people to fill the most important positions in the American government, even these hand picked self-serving individuals can’t seem to work together as an effective team. Sniping, jostling for access and power, they’ve created a power vacuum at the top that puts us in a vulnerable position.

Trump claims to be this fantastic business persons but he hires incompetent people, can’t manage his employees after he hires them and has a rock bottom ignorant understanding of the issues that those employees are set to deal with. Granted I’m not a business major but even I can see that Trump is a person with no apparent business management skills. The chaos at the top is now way past the excuse of “rough transition”. At this point he can claim to be an investor capitalist who should’ve kept his nose out of politics and public service – an area that he knows nothing about and has no skills to succeed at.

  • It is becoming increasingly obvious that Trump seeks audiences of adoring sheeple-faith-thinkers, who accept whatever false news and “alternative facts”, is fed to them by posturing authority-figure preachers like Trump.
His cabinet is made up of people who have followings with this sort of mentality who they can bring with them to his supporter’s club!
