VA Republican: Trans People Violate the Laws of Nature at a “Fundamental Level”

Nov 6, 2017

By Hemant Mehta

Bob Marshall is one of the Delegates up for election on Tuesday in Virginia — he’s been in office since 1992 — but his recent comments show exactly why he doesn’t deserve his seat.

Marshall was speaking with right-wing radio host Sandy Rios when he said he wouldn’t use the proper pronouns to refer to his transgender opponent, Danica Roem, because he gets the “laws of nature.”

“It is not a civil right to masquerade your fantasies as reality,” Marshall said. “But standing up to this is somewhat difficult because you get called all kinds of names. And if you’re going to be shying away because someone calls you a bigot or a transphobe or whatever it is, it probably is not something that you should attempt.”

“I’ve drawn a line. I’m not leaving it, because I don’t make the laws of nature but I think I understand them, at least at this fundamental level. I never flunked biology, so I’m not going to call a man a woman, period,” Marshall said.

Spoiler: He doesn’t understand the topic at a fundamental level. Getting a passing grade in high school biology didn’t inoculate him from being an asshole.

Clearly he is another Republican ignoramus, who does not know what the laws of nature are!

“It is not a civil right to masquerade your fantasies as reality,” Marshall said.

Illustrating a classic example of psychological projection, of an ignoramus who is has the whole thing backwards as he masquerades his fantasy delusion that he understands biology!

“But standing up to this is somewhat difficult because you get called all kinds of names. And if you’re going to be shying away because someone calls you a bigot or a transphobe or whatever it is, it probably is not something that you should attempt.”

I suppose he could get a proper education and stop being a bigot and a transphobe! That would stop people from applying accurate labels to him!

“I’ve drawn a line. I’m not leaving it, because I don’t make the laws of nature but I think I understand them,

Spoken like a classical Dunning-Kruger delusionist!

at least at this fundamental level.

I think he means “at a Biblical FUNDAMENTALIST level”!

    I never flunked biology,

He said: – promptly flunking biology and embryology!

so I’m not going to call a man a woman, period,”
    Marshall said.

. . . . . With the classic dichotomous black and white thinking of an assertive ignoramus, inebriated by his own pomposity, and blissfully unaware of the developmental range of diversity within embryonic sexual development which give rise to ambiguous genitalia!

Yep! It looks like a majority of voters got the measure of transphobes and homophobes!

Meanwhile, Virginia voters elected their first openly transgender state legislator in Danica Roem.

The 32-year-old journalist and stepmother ousted a long-time, pro-Trump, incumbent Republican in a race that focused on traffic issues.

Her rival, Bob Marshall, described himself earlier this year as Virginia’s “chief homophobe”.

However it seems in countries which value scientific evidence – such as Germany, they don’t care what what silly old scientifically illiterate, fossil, has-beens, like him say!

Germany allows ‘indeterminate’ gender at birth – 1 November 2013

Germany has become Europe’s first country to allow babies with characteristics of both sexes to be registered as neither male nor female.

Parents are now allowed to leave the gender blank on birth certificates, in effect creating a new category of “indeterminate sex”.

The move is aimed at removing pressure on parents to make quick decisions on sex assignment surgery for newborns.

However, some campaigners say the new law does not go far enough.

As many as one in 2,000 people have characteristics of both sexes.

Germany’s top court has ruled that there must be the option of registering a third gender on birth certificates.

It would make Germany the first European country to offer intersex people the choice of identifying as neither male nor female.

The case was brought by a registered female whose chromosome test confirmed they were neither one sex nor the other.

Activists described it as a “small revolution”.

The constitutional court in Karlsruhe has given the government until the end of 2018 to pass a law specifying a category other than male or female.

It said current regulations on civil status were discriminatory against intersex people.

The category could be called “inter” or “various”.

A German government spokesperson said the government would comply with the ruling.

Intersex people are born with a mixture of male and female sex characteristics. The UN says the condition affects up to 1.7% of the world’s population.

They are already recognised on official documents in countries including Australia, India, New Zealand, Nepal and the US, where the first intersex birth certificate was issued last year.

In Germany it has been possible since 2013 to leave the gender box blank on the birth certificate for people born with characteristics of both males and females. Before that, if there was any doubt, officials would enter either male or female.
