CA School Board Member Who Said Kids Could Turn Gay Won’t Seek Re-Election

By Hemant Mehta

Last year, the California Healthy Youth Act went into effect, making it mandatory for public junior high and middle schools to teach students “comprehensive, accurate, and unbiased” sex education. That includes lessons on the “effectiveness and safety” of birth control, the fact that abortion is a legal option for those who want it, and that there are non-traditional sexual orientations.

Naturally, even in California, that didn’t sit well with everybody. Fresno Unified school board President Brooke Ashjian was one of those parents. His own kids opted out of sex education, but he went much further than mere disagreement with the new policy last August.

“My biggest fear in teaching this — which we’re going to do it because it’s the law — but you have kids who are extremely moldable at this stage, and if you start telling them that LGBT is OK and that it’s a way of life, well maybe you just swayed the kid to go that way,” Ashjian said. “It’s so important for parents to teach these Judeo-Christian philosophies.”

This guy literally believes that telling kids gay people exist is enough to turn them gay.

  1. I come from a different school of thought. I’ve recently realized that it is simply the number of times you hear and read a word that causes you to become whatever that word is.

So, if your reading the word “gay” and hearing the word “gay” added together is over a certain threshold number, then PRESTO — you are gay. In math terms: Gay(read) + Gay(heard) = Gay (person)

Same thing with any word. Simply saying “doctor” and reading “doctor” when added together, if the number exceeds a specific threshold — BOOM — you are suddenly practicing medicine.

This is a hypothesis that, I think we all can see, has far reaching implications.

If, for example, John Wayne Gacy had never heard the word or read the words “serial killer” he’d be a much more productive member of society and many of his victims would still be with us.

So, along those lines, I think we should all encourage this gaping asshat to refrain from saying the word gay (or serial killer) ever again, lest he fall into the vortex.

  2. @OP- His own kids opted out of sex education

    Opted out???

Did they also opt out of maths education and literacy education?

Fresno Unified school board President Brooke Ashjian was one of those parents.

WHY is a clown like this a school board president???

Ah! But surely this is the essence of faith-thinking!

If a catechism of “I believe in God-the-father etc.” is chanted every week or five times a day, with feed-back from fellow delusionists, then indeed “god exists” – at least in the delusion compartment of the believer’s brain. Naturally those deeply indoctrinated in faith-thinking, believe this mechanism also works in the real material world!

So, if you’re reading the word “god” and hearing the word “god” added together is over a certain threshold number, then PRESTO — you are god-deluded. In math terms: God(read) + God(heard) = God-deluded (person)

Same thing with any word. Simply saying “doctor” and reading “doctor” when added together, if the number exceeds a specific threshold — BOOM — you are suddenly practicing medicine.

Some of the god-deluded perpetrators AND their faithful, faith-healed, god-deluded victims, actually believe this! – At least for a while!

A woman in Guinea who sold herbs and potions to sterile women, telling them they would become pregnant, has been jailed for five years. “We won but I am not satisfied with this victory,” one victim, Fatou Seck, told the BBC outside court. “And what has angered us the most is that as soon as the judge pronounced her sentence, N’na Fanta responded by thanking God. She is happy over the misfortune she brought us.” Camara had defended herself, saying: “I work very hard to help [the women] realise their dream, but the rest is in the hands of God.”

Crooked, I have been using the word “intelligent” everyday for years.
    Hasn’t helped me yet.

I think Crooked meant that different words have different specific threshold numbers. Some words have rather low thresholds that induce a PRESTO moment of realization, and others have much higher thresholds that induce a BOOM moment of realization. I suspect that a word like ‘intelligent’ has a very high threshold number and takes longer to attain, but, when you do attain it, it will be with a BOOM!
