Unvaccinated Children Are Now Barred From Going To School In New York — And Their Anti-Vax Parents Are Really Mad

Sep 23, 2019

By Ellie Hall

Furious anti-vax parents in New York this week are posting memes and images of sad children — and have shown up in person to protest the governor — because a new law prohibiting unvaccinated children from attending school went into effect.

The mandate, enacted in June, “prohibits a school from permitting any child to be admitted to such school, or to attend such school, in excess of 14 days without sufficient evidence that the child has received all age appropriate required vaccinations,” according an official publication from the New York Department of Health, Office of Children and Family Services, and the State Education Department.

Those 14-day grace periods started expiring this week, which meant school officials barred students from going to class or began removing them from schools, to be picked up by their parents. (To be clear, the students could return to school if their parents had them vaccinated.)

  • Too bad, so sad, and a movement that is long long overdue.  The loonies have been running the asylum for too long.  Don’t want to vaccinate your children?  Then keep them away from mine.  Vaccinations don’t always work and you can’t really tell when that is the case until your unvaccinated and infected kid comes to school and makes other kids sick.

I think it should be mandated that these vaccinations are given even if they DON’T send them to school.  Parents who don’t vaccinate are irresponsible at best.  “Religious sensibilities” should be shunted aside in cases that involve public health, and also in any venue of employment or health care.  Parents should not be allowed to not treat their sick children because they think god will heal them.  If you’re an adult and want to refuse a blood transfusion, you’re only hurting yourself with your backwards superstitions.  Parents should never EVER be allowed to deny their children medical care.  That includes vaccinations.

I posted to this thread before and apparently the posting was permanently blocked.  I have no idea why, I’m pretty sure I said pretty much the same thing as I did in this posting.  I’ve had several postings just never appear.  Is that on purpose for some odd reason?
