Pastor says only “sissies” & “pansies” wash their hands to prevent coronavirus

A conservative Christian pastor issued an angry rebuke of churches taking measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, calling them “sissies” and “pansies” who have been “neutered.”

Jonathan Shuttlesworth, a televangelist who co-founded Revival Today TV, called out European churches that are taking measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

“Shame on every European full gospel church, bunch of sissies, that shut down during this thing,” he said. Italy is the country with the second-most confirmed cases of coronavirus in the world, after China, and churches there have taken steps to prevent the spread of the virus, like removing holy water and canceling large events.

Shuttlesworth went after those churches, which are mostly Catholic.

“Catholic Church not having holy water in the lobby — how holy is the water then?” he said in his rant. “That should be a sign to you that your whole religion’s a fraud. Any faith that doesn’t work in real life is a fake faith. Totally fake.”

  • @OP: “That should be a sign to you that your whole religion’s a fraud. Any faith that doesn’t work in real life is a fake faith. Totally fake.”

We have seen the application of “faith”,  claims of miraculous powers, the defiance of secular authorities, and the poses of martyrdom in connection to  Coronavirus before!

There is a massive infection in South Korea, and guess who is responsible?

Viruses and reality do not care about “faith-beliefs” or postures of martyrdom.

Nature just runs its course irrespective of delusional beliefs or the sect leader Lee Man-hee’s  claims to be  the Messiah!

  • He also said that coronavirus prevention measures are the work of the devil.

Let’s look at that a bit. If preventing coronavirus is the work of the devil, then is spreading coronavirus the will of their god?

Is their god killing thousands of humans in order to manifest his power? Should the families who have lost members be lying in grateful prostration in front of an alter?

Every day, I am thankful that my parents raised me without theist non-sense. That must be some serious psychological baggage to unload. I wonder sometimes if those who have rejected theism, after a lifetime of indoctrination, are ever completely free of its effects. There has to be some (or a lot) of anger and resentment.

  • Vicki says:

We need to remember, that in order to maintain sheeple confidence in the faith-healing business, it is necessary to proclaim that those who remain ill or die, are simply showing the symptoms of a “lack of faith”!

Their god(delusion) would not inflict sickness and death on his flock of FAITHFUL sheeples – just apostates and waverers!  Doubt is after all a sin! ☺

So as, god delusions are omnipotent and all powerful, natural disasters just are them showing their displeasure on unbelievers! (allegedly)

  • From the article above:

While he rejects a science-based approach to coronavirus prevention, he did say last week that there is something that will protect America from the disease: Donald Trump’s policy towards Israel.

Wow! That’s some serious mental gymnastics there! How do these people come up with this stuff? Probably 90% of the brain activity of this guy is a complete waste of time. I wonder how many rational thoughts actually float through his mind on any given day.
