Somehow I think the civilized world can be trusted to carry on reducing greenhouse gas emissions while the USA finishes its dalliance with Cheeto Hitler. Ditto some US states and many US corporations and individuals. Basically the USA is making itself irrelevant, or part of the problem, as it did with the World Court. And, at least in my view, the…[Read more]

Doesn’t this have more to do with withdrawing financial support from a state-sponsored religious institution than ceasing either religious observance or personal religious belief? I visited Denmark in 2004; I was Christian clergy at that time. My wife and I visited several churches around the country and attended Sunday services at one, in…[Read more]

I heard that MT, while speaking outdoors in Winnipeg, was offered a rain jacket by her hosts. She refused, saying something about “the poor” lacking such protection. In the UCC, or at least in the churches I served, one’s personal religious beliefs – including the personal religious beliefs of the pastor – are just that: personal. I always felt and preached that our faith is more about commitment to a core set of…[Read more]

  • Wow, the UC did something right! I never cease to be amazed by the disingenuous arguments lefties can use to justify their anti-Semitism. How about this for you to get your shorts in a bunch about: The Land of […]

  • So, if I think “they” are out to get me, only two of us need to keep the secret. But I don’t trust that other guy. Or is the whole world in on the fiendish plot? If they were, somebody would have blabbed by now. I […]
