  • Sounds like you guys have this one nailed and wrapped up. Daniels is an idiot or paid propagandist. Notice there is never an attempt to parse the resistance into the “ignorant” camp, who are just scared of […]

This guy went to Cornell and Rice? I would have to see those transcripts. Looks like a religious, right-wing, Gomer Pyle, preacher type to me. Just saying. I know looks can be ….

And shouldn’t a NASA background be an absolute requirement for a NASA administrator? Wonder what Bolden’s direct reports think of Trump now. Surely Kirk Shireman…[Read more]

    To KPFA management:

Just so you know, you hurt the feelings of millions of atheists around the world when you canceled/censored the Richard Dawkins segment.

Fortunately you do not have to worry that Atheists will bomb your station or issue a fatwa for your assassinations in retaliation. These would be examples of those Islamic ideas (and…[Read more]

I concur that social media is a dangerous negative force. It is a platform for a mostly immature and illiterate audience who are manipulated by the media and other powerful cartels. It seems that the lower the IQ, the more obsessed the user becomes. Little children are literally addicted as if on drugs. And in their hands social media…[Read more]

    Alan4-
All of my comments about the name were simply a joke, (apparently not appreciated by all) no clarity required. I really could care less what people call it. I especially like it when they call us those God Damned Atheists. FYI- Godsmack is the name of a rock band who had connections to witchcraft and the occult. It is also a euphemism…[Read more]

The New Atheist movement?? What the old ones all died? All the members just decided to be atheists? Sounds like a soap commercial- the New and Improved Atheists.

I vote for the New Enlightenment. Or Enlightenment 2.0. or how about Godsmack. That would be an interesting activity for CFI to consider. Rename the movement. Maybe a New York PR…[Read more]

Anything but addressing the social conditions that result in unwanted pregnancies and having compassion for fellow human beings in their time of need.

Oh, you had an unwanted pregnancy? You are an evil whore and should be shunned for the rest of your life. Oh you had an abortion? Now you are also a murderer and deserve incarceration and to…[Read more]

Thanks much. I really don’t take it personal. This is one of the few places an opinion can be made without ad hominem responses and incoherent argumentation (usually). Thanks for your kindness and considered responses.

First of all let me thank Peacpecan and Alan4discussion for being the first commenters to respond to my posts. I was starting to feel like an outsider except for the occasional likes. Your screen name is unthreatening but not silly. I take peace very seriously and I love pecans.

Alan4: You got me. That is likely my primary source on this…[Read more]

I am saying emphatically that religion, and the morality (or immorality) that it describes is no more the cause of natural human behavior than any other work of fiction. The fact that humans, who are themselves a product of evolution, wrote the texts does not in any way prove that the texts are the genesis of human behavior. A…[Read more]

What makes France think they can fix stupid? Remember these people have not jumped the hurdle of THE ENLIGHTENMENT. Let them wear what they want, so long as they do not pursue official Sharia law, or blow something up. Or better yet don’t let your government ship in enemy combatants from countries where we are currently destroying everything.

I am confused as to why we are all so shocked at this behavior. Isn’t Kasich a politician? Aren’t atheists the fringe minority? Doesn’t his actions cater to the largest voting block? If you think atheists are in any way favored or protected from attack by any mainstream political party, you are living in the Dungeons of Hogwarts.

    This is…[Read more]

Me thinks the crux of the contention is when expression either becomes evangelizing or disrupting. The timing and delivery is usually more important than the content. Employers have to make that call everyday. It is our hypersensitive, politically correct phobia that has suddenly made workplace expression such a hot topic.

The difference between religious morality and evolved morality is that evolved morality is the very nature of human existence and behaviors. Religious morality (dogma) is nothing but an attempt to ascribe meaning to life and existence. The mythical God construct is only an anthropomorphized messenger used to disseminate the dogma in sanctified…[Read more]

Another example of how separation of church and state can solve an issue quickly and effectively. Child abuse laws should have nothing to do with religion. Either the treatment was negligent and criminal or it was not. This should be based on the seriousness of the injuries sustained, the intent behind the punishment and other relevant factors.…[Read more]

Don’t even get me started on “follywood”. If there was anymore sex or violence in the modern incarnation of visual entertainment, people would either orgasm or kill the person next to them within the first few minutes of every showing. It is laughable how paltry, demeaning and boring our movies, music and television have become. I turned off…[Read more]

It amuses me how when religious people express their faith through symbols or rhetoric, they are just exercising their constitutional right to freedom of religion, and their constitutional right to freedom of expression. But when atheist express our secularism in any form, we are accused of attacking religion, inciting violence, practicing hate…[Read more]

In regards to the progress towards a universal good is concerned, it is worth acknowledging that the genetic drive to pass along genes and survive are in most instances the basis of modern primate ethology (specifically Homo Sapiens). Having cognitive skills that enable objective analysis of human social and moral precepts does not invalidate the…[Read more]
