Women who have abortions could be jailed for up to five years under a law backed by Polish MPs which would almost completely ban terminations even in cases of rape or incest.

    On Friday the […]

    • Abortion is only legal in Ireland if the mother’s life it at risk.

And we all know how that worked out 🙁

    • Catholicism raises it’s ugly head again!

    • Anything but addressing the social conditions that result in unwanted pregnancies and having compassion for fellow human beings in their time of need.

Oh, you had an unwanted pregnancy? You are an evil whore and should be shunned for the rest of your life. Oh you had an abortion? Now you are also a murderer and deserve incarceration and to burn in hell for eternity. Oh, you say you asked Jesus for forgiveness? Then never mind, now you deserve eternal bliss.

What could possible go wrong with this social construct?

    • The WHO estimates that between 40 and 50 million abortions are performed in the world each year.
If every unwanted pregnancy were brought to term; every aborted “child” came into the world,
the supplemental increase in population would be around one billion “extra” people added every 20 years,
or five billion a century. Assuming each woman among the five billion had a replacement fertility rate of 2.1 children = the woman replaces herself and her partner, then the “extra” population added to regular population growth doubles to around 10 billion people. Statistically, after two hundred years world population could
increase, depending on other factors, to around 30 billiion. Abortion is both a crucial form of birth control worldwide and a check on runaway population growth. ( Fertility above replacement levels could lead to more
catastrophic increases at a faster tempo.)

    • My wish is for religion to ultimately just become the myth we all know it is.

From that same article you linked to:

He went on to state that he had reversed his lifelong opposition to assisted death in 2014, but had remained more ambiguous about whether he desired it for himself.

Now, however, he says: “Today, I myself am even closer to the departures hall than arrivals, so to speak, and my thoughts turn to how I would like to be treated when the time comes.”

It seems that he strongly blocked assisted death for everyone for the whole time he was alive and in a position of authority to sway thousands of people including the powers that be. Interesting that a couple years ago he started thinking about it with a nod to some compassion. Now, with his own demise in sight, he realizes that forcing people to die in prolonged, painful circumstances is a hideous cruelty. How convenient for him!!

The total lack of empathy with these people is shocking. No one wants to imagine their own death or the death of close loved ones but is it too much to ask for someone to think to themselves, “Death already sucks as it is but making people suffer for long periods of time or for any time at all is morally wrong, especially because we have medications to prevent it.” Let’s update our way of handling this situation because it’s morally the right thing to do.

What’s so difficult about that? It ain’t rocket science!

I guess it’s a demonstration of the power of brainwashing in humans that a person could straight faced say that suffering is good. It’s what God and Jesus want. We will be rewarded after death for the suffering in this life. Just like Jesus! Mind slaves.

    • “We will strive to ensure that even in pregnancies which are very difficult, when a child is sure to die, strongly deformed, women end up giving birth so that the child can be baptised, buried, and have a name.”

The disgusting cruelty of the absolutely brainwashed religious zombies. It’s bad enough that they would go through this birth, baptism and burial process themselves but no, they have to inflict their bizarre beliefs and rituals on the rest of us. That’s not out of kindness, no, it’s because they believe that we must be forced to bear every child we conceive and devote all resources to that child whether we want to or not and no matter if there are no resources to deal with a special needs offspring and no matter how that might impact the children we already have who need those resources to survive.

For women to maintain control over their own reproductive strategies including when and with whom to conceive and whether or not to raise the newborn are primary factors in our reproductive strategies. That religions tamper with our strategy is the most obvious evidence of their intention to control women for their own benefit.

Why do women put up with these control freaks?!! Women of Poland are fighting for their reproductive and life autonomy. Fight against these RCC patriarchal assholes !

      That was a reassuring article.

“I think there will be a winding down of these attacks and a stepping up of the counterattacks,” Schakowsky said. “With a woman in the White House, women will be feeling more empowered, insisting on control of themselves and their bodies.”

      Ohhhhh Yessssss!
