    Phil and Dan your conversation is very important here I think. Could you both please cite cases a little more often than the generalities.
    Phil you mention husbands. I wonder what the reaction would be all around if the criticism and mocking was suggested to be directed exclusively at the male companions? Thought experiment time.

    There are far more people that work from emotion than those who have developed reflective thinking skill.

    Trump gave resonating messages. Many were contradictory but emotive thinkers latch on to the resonant ones and don’t hear the rest.

    To fix this short term the Dems need to learn to make emotionally resonant messages.

    What are morals? Expected behaviours for given situations agreed on by a population. Non humans have morals.
    Religious folks get upset by that because they want the morals provided to them to be fixed and comfortable. Thinking through such things usually undermines both privileges and certainties.

    It’s simple enough. Start a project to scour the literature and find the pieces that were overlooked because they weren’t by white guys. Reevaluate the complete body of works and form a curriculum about the best 8. Include historical context and show how other works managed to be Influential.

    I like how the response to accedemic freedom being trampled on is to review the wording of the academic freedom rules. Probably no one even referenced those in the first place.

    Europeans are all being calm and intelligent about it? ? The attacks on refugee camps and the rise of neo Nazi responses suggest otherwise.
    What to do about it? Measured response . don’t curtail human rights. Don’t other groups of people. Don’t set the group you identify with apart from everyone else.
