Not banned, but just posts that get lost. Ok, that makes sense. I often find I have to log in multiple times as well, but I guess that’s also a glitch.

It would make the GPS ground position wrong by several yards
Well, I hate to quote a quoter, but I don’t have time to check this, so here’s a simple google search on it …
I am reading A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking, and in it he
mentions that without compensating for relativity, GPS devices would
be out by…
You really need to stop quoting conspiracy theorist junk from denial
websites and pretending it is science.
I didn’t quote an article about climate science, I quoted an article about a government that was investigating people for having an opinion on climate science. That is quite different.
I was commenting on blasphemy in religion and…[Read more]
GPS has small errors because the satellites orbit at thousand of MPH
and newton did not have measuring equipment which was sufficiently
Uhhhh, don’t think GPS was around during Newton’s time… I’ll assume you mis-wrote that.
AFAIK, it’s an issue of time dilation due to gravity, which Newton’s theory does not address.
Which government tried to do this when?
Were you suggesting that the Canadian government did this?
That is what was reported in the article I linked to.
I seriously doubt that the Canadian (or any) government has singled out scientists who claim the opposite opinion. That is what scares me. A government that tries to suppress one side…[Read more]
Well, there’s many religions and they usually involve force of some kind. For example, some believe that climate science is immune to this sort of religious and political fervor. But then one finds this:
Canada’s Competition Bureau, an arm’s length agency funded by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government to the tune of almost $50 milli…
Thanks for the kind words. But to be clear, I think there is a clear difference between Trump the candidate and Trump the president. That goes just as much for any of them. I was for Obama the candidate too (he ran on a promise of transparency and change). It seems that once any of these people get into office, it swallows them up. It’s why…[Read more]
Listening to that threat by Trump, I was half expecting him to break into that scene in Pulp Fiction with Samuel L. Jackson, “…and I will strike down with great vengeance and furious anger ….”
And these are the people we want to manage our health care, shepherd the economy, and lead us by the still waters. And to think, I actually once…[Read more]
How scientific! Let’s squash all debate.
I for one would welcome a debate especially one that would include people such as Henrik Svensmark. But I’m not sure that Henrik still wants to fight all the politics involved in any discussion of climate.
Some time ago I thought that the socialism vs. capitalism debate was settled. But socialism is…[Read more]
It only seems mad if you have “faith” in Governments; that they’re good, hold the public’s interests ahead of their own, and are not populated by bullies who enjoy pushing people around.
A good rule of thumb is when you can’t understand a government policy, replace the word government with mafia and then ask the same questions, such as why would…[Read more]
Well, surprise, surprise, the Republicans and Trump loves war as much as the democrats. The only, and I repeat, ONLY, hope the US had was that Trump wouldn’t be another Clinton/Bush/Obama and would not get involved in stupid wars. Just like Pres. Wilson, who was elected to keep us out of the first world war, Trump was elected to keep us out of a…[Read more]
There’s a lot of truth in the old line about democracy being 2 wolves and a sheep voting on what’s for dinner. The problem in America is that the federal government is too powerful. Nobody on the left objected when their guy was calling the shots. Now that the sheep have voted in their guy, the wolves are rebelling.
With or without the electoral…[Read more]
Wasn’t it Paul Krugman (the conscience of a liberal) who said we’d be better off economically if we had an alien invasion?
And how did this question morph into crying about Trump (yet again)? Just who is it that wants to blame Trump’s election on a country that has enough nukes to wipe out the planet? Trump might be the only way we avoid a…[Read more]
so that hyperbole and fearmongering can divide and conquer the public
Krauss is the physicist who acts like he is an expert on all of science. He writes a book about nothing and claims that everything comes from nothing, except that he can’t actually define what nothing is. And evidence? Well, who needs evidence? Krauss previous books…[Read more]
This is meaningless
Now that really tells us a lot. The poster was simply saying that it doesn’t accomplish much if you reduce each person’s carbon footprint but then you also add more persons into the mix and get the same carbon output. What’s meaningless about that?
The problem with the anti-religious movement is that it is has nothing to offer except the worship of government, and in particular, today’s love of democracy. They believe they can solve problems between humans through the barrel of a gun, so long as 51% voted for the gun – until, of course, someone they don’t approve of gets elected.
The point of a healthcare system, is that people who are healthy, while they are healthy, pay into the system, and when they are sick or injured (and stop earning?), they benefit – when they NEED the service.
Hmmm, only in a socialist Orwellian newspeak does healthcare and insurance become one and the same. Once there’s a s…[Read more]
This is good and seems a fair way to treat an isolationist and polluting USA
That’s great, start a trade war. Do you really think that Trump will not retaliate if you start a trade war with the US? Want the US to really get behind Trump, mess with their imports.
If you think cutting off trade will produce less emissions, then you don’t…[Read more]
